each of us the ability and gifts to do certain things well, and
we are to develop those talents for the good of others.

PARISH NEWS
DSA SUPPORT APPEAL 2017: Your pledge to the Diocesan Support
Appeal is shared with the educational, multicultural, vocational, housing,
and social service ministries of the diocese. Thousands of people depend on
your generosity. You may complete a pledge envelope and return it to the
Parish Office or go to www.charlottediocese.org to make a gift online. If
you have not yet made a gift to the DSA this year, please give prayerful consideration to
determine an amount that you are proud to give. As of today ONLY 81 of 265 parish families
have contributed $24,391.70. We need each of you to help us reach our goal of $24,484.00.
Thank you for all of your efforts!
LITURGICAL NOTE During November, we are called in a special way “to remember our
brothers and sisters who have gone to their rest” (Eucharistic Prayer II). A Remembrance book
will be available in a convenient location in which the faithful could inscribe the names of their
beloved dead who would be remembered in prayer during the month.
ALL SAINTS DAY - Wednesday, November 1st is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Mass will be held at 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday. The relics of: St
Benedict (our patron saint), St Pius X (patron of first communicants & catechists),
St Rita of Cascia (patroness of impossible causes), and St Alphonsus Liguori
(patron of confessors) will be exposed for veneration after all masses. Let us come
and honor them.
ALL SOULS DAY - Thursday, November 2nd
, Mass will be held at 12:00
noon. The month of November, especially All Souls Day, is a traditional
time for visiting the graves of loved ones, as is the anniversary of death. Let
us keep them in our prayers in November.
ALTAR SERVERS NEEDED: All Masses need Altar Servers. It is always
rewarding to see a child’s love for his or her faith grow stronger as they accept the
responsibility of a ministry such as this. As adults, we also feel a rewarding
experience knowing that we had a part in this growth. Pease contact Fr. Duc or Amy
Nutt at 336-272-0303 to answer any questions you may have regarding this
ministry. Thank you for your time, looking forward to hearing from you.
ST. BENEDICT’S CHOIR: The choir rehearses every Wednesdays from
6:30-7:30 in the choir loft. Singers are needed! Please call Dianne
McCutcheon 336.937.5453.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Because we only love God as
much as the neighbor we love
the least, whom do I need to look
at differently this week if I hope
to look more like God?
