SHOW AND TELL:
Elaine M. brought a probate document written
in the 1880s for the estate of John Mooney Snr.
She also brought the pay sheet from her law
firm, Walker, Gibbs and King, recording her first
pay in the office. Elaine and her brother John are
4th generation Mooneys, descended from a
convict who arrived in NSW in 1832.
Hass brought a photo (above), an aerial photo
taken in the 1950s, of the tobacco farm
belonging to her grandparents. The farm was
located at Mareeba on the Atherton Tableland
in North Queensland.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Meg read a thank you letter that had been
received from a student at St Jude’s in Tanzania.
John K reminded everyone of the markets,
mentioning the need for a theme for the
February markets (now having a pet parade);
March markets are multicultural while April
markets will be on Easter Sunday.
A reminder from Mark C to bring bottles of wine
for the auction at the Sir William Hudson
Memorial Centre fete.
Thank you to the chefs who gave us an excellent
meal!
