Dear In these tough times, stress at work is no laughing matter. Thats why its extra important to re-energiseyour staff and encourage them to look after their emotional health. Im supporting Samaritans Stress DownDay to put a smile on everyones face this February and Im asking for your help to make 2009s event themost successful (and relaxing) yet.
Please take part on Friday 6th February by wearing your slippers to work or organising a chill-out activity for your colleagues and donating £2 to Samaritans to generate vital funds for the emotional support charity.
Those lovely people at Samaritans have enclosed this pack full of everything you will need for office pampering plus the chance to spoil yourself rotten with a free spa day.
Good luck and dont forget your slippers!
All the best
Graham.

Support from the heart of the community
Facing new challenges
We recognise that a growing number of people of all ages in our community need support as we face the challenges of an ageing population, high levels of unemployment, fears over job security and budget cuts threatening everyday public services.
The demand for our services has never been greater, but, at the same time, our resources are under extreme pressure because of the economic environment.
In 2011 we met a growing need for advice and counselling, delivered a wide range of activities to bring the community together and provided care services for older people. We know that 2012 will be even more testing as we face increased demand with continued pressure on resources - but it’s a challenge we are committed to overcome.
In all that we do, we strive to be uplifting and to raise local people’s spirits - it’s why we promise ‘Support from the heart of the community ’.

The economic situation shows little sign of improvement which has the effect of increased pressure from rising costs and increasing demand for our services. We also have to refurbish the premises which are central to our services after many years of making do. We will therefore need to generate additional income if we are to maintain the level of our charitable activities, and, hopefully to develop them in the future.
The financial information on these pages is extracted from our audited accounts for 2011/2012. If you would like a full copy of the Annual Report and Accounts you can either download it from our website at wimbledonguild.co.uk or contact us for a copy.
