Editorial

am writing this editorial from the Mobile World

Conference 2011 in Barcelona, Spain. The MWC is a

great opportunity not only to learn about the newest developments in the

mobile industry, but also to find ways of taking Frotcom to the next level.

Undoubtedly, Frotcom has grown to become one of the most interesting vehicle

tracking and fleet management systems in the world. But we have the ambition

of making Frotcom THE best vehicle tracking and fleet management system.

For that, new features are being prepared. Frotcom international will soon

disclose some of those features. Others will come next, supported by state of

the art technology and strategic partnerships.

The visit to the MWC was a great opportunity to get new ideas on board and

help paving the road for Frotcom's evolution. For sure, the next 12 months will

see Frotcom grow and become more and more an invaluable tool for companies

to control their fleets, their costs and productivity.

New Certified Partner

Frotcom now in Serbia

In February 2011 Frotcom’s network of Certified Partners was enlarged to

Serbia, through local company Vransys d.o.o., which from now on become

Frotcom Serbia.

In Serbia there is currently a large market for fleet management systems, with a

high number of companies looking for cost effective solutions for fleet

management and vehicle tracking system.

According to Dragan Kostovski and Jelena Stefanovic,

respectively CEO and Director of Vransys d.o.o., “We are

very proud to be part of the Frotcom team. As a young

company with main focus on professional vehicle tracking

and fleet management, we decided to join the Frotcom

network. As Frotcom Serbia, we have high expectations for

our market. We strongly believe that this cooperation is the

best way to provide the best services for our customers.”

Dragan Kostovski is also CEO of Frotcom Macedonia. The

success of the Macedonian operation led Dragan to invest

also in the neighbour market.

Nuno Liñan, Marketing Director at Frotcom International said that “This new

partnership represents an important milestone for Frotcom, as we continue our

rapid growth and further extend our global reach into new international

markets. We are sure that this partnership will be of great success and that

companies in Serbia will benefit greatly from it, especially in these times of crisis,

as Frotcom can provide significant savings in a company's fleet related costs”.

ROADMAP congratulates Dragan Kostovski, Jelena Stefanovic and the Frotcom

Serbia team and wishes them great success.

Some words about Serbia

Serbia, officially the Republic of Serbia, is a country located at

the crossroads of Central and Southeastern Europe, covering

the southern part of Carpathian basin and the central part of

the Balkans. Belgrade, Serbia's capital city is among the most

populous in Southeast Europe.

> Capital: Belgrade > Language: Serbian > Currency: Serbian Dinar (RSD)

> Territory: 88,361 sq km > Population: 7.3 mln > GDP: USD 80 mln (2010)

Did you know?

Daytime running light

Dedicated daytime running lights (DRLs)

are the lamps on vehicles that switch on

automatically when the engine is started.

They substantially increase the visibility

of motor vehicles.

Whereas drivers are only required to

switch on their lights in the dark in most

countries, DRLs are designed to be

switched on during the day. In contrast to

conventional headlights, DRLs do not

help the driver see the road but rather

help other road users see the

approaching vehicle. The energy

consumption of DRLs is only 25-30% of

that of a conventional dipped-beam

headlamp.

EU Legislation

From 2011 onwards, DLRs will be

mandatory for all new cars and small

delivery vans in the EU. Trucks and buses

will follow in August 2012.

Existing vehicles will not have to be

retrofitted. Currently, 17 EU countries

already have some form of DRL

legislation.

New Features

New filter for Frotcom’s messaging module

A new filter tool was added to Frotcom’s Interact module, making it easier for

users to locate messages previously sent or received.

The filter allows users to filter messages by time period, vehicle or driver, and

also through a search mechanism which will look inside the previous

messages, for a specific text.

Tip of the month

Send us your feedback!

New features in Frotcom are developed

according to a roadmap which is largely

influenced by the feedback received

from users.

Frotcom International schedules the

development of these new features in

terms of the number of requests from

users, as well as the global interest that

such features can have for the

community of users.

That is why it is very important for

users to express their needs to

Frotcom International. The best way to

do this is to use the Send us your

feedback link, located on the top right

corner of Frotcom SL.

By clicking on this link, users are invited

to describe what they did not like about

Frotcom, or any new feature they

would like to have.

All feedback received is read and

analyzed by Frotcom International’s

Development Team.

Measuring fuel level in liters

Frotcom already allowed users with the CANBus

module to view the level of fuel in the tanks of the

trucks. However, this measure was provided only as a

percentage of the full tank’s capacity.

Now, Frotcom can show the fuel

level in liters also. For that, users just

have to indicate in the vehicle details

the full capacity of the tank, in liters.

Then, in the CANBus module, either

% or L can be selected.

News and events

Falcom changes shareholdship

Falcom Wireless Communications, the German manufacturer of the tracking

devices used by Frotcom, announced that the company joined Erco & Gener

(www.ercogener.com), remaining an independent company according to

German Commercial law. This cooperation will support Falcom's strategy in

developing and marketing its own products as well as its expansion in

OEM/ODM businesses.

Although this change in shareholdship does not directly affect Frotcom or its

solutions, Frotcom International expects nevertheless that in time it will allow

Falcom to present new and better tracking devices and accessories, which will

benefit Frotcom’s solution.

Cervecita, anyone?

Why does everybody want to catch this bus? Well,

when Moritz, Barcelona’s beer producers since 1856,

offers you prizes and discounts, it’s certainly worth

the trip. And that’s exactly what Moritz did, during

the Opportunity Week event, organised by Barcelona Turisme, from January 28

to February 6th (www.bcnow.cat). To help locating the bus, Moritz partnered

with Frotcom Spain.

From the Moritz page in Facebook, beer lovers could track the bus

on a light version of Frotcom and immediately find out where the

bus – and the prizes – were. You can find a great video about this

initiative in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tHQvObxC94.

Next, on Roadmap

News and events,

more new Frotcom features

and tips will be presented.

This and more, so don’t miss

the next issue of Roadmap.
