Fr. Bogdan’s Corner Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday, begins the Holy Week. It is the day that we remember and celebrate the day Jesus entered Jerusalem as King and Savior. People of Jerusalem gathered at the road and gave Him the royal treatment. A few days later, the same crowd and Sanhedrin cried out to crucify Him. Minds and hearts are subject to change. One day Jesus was great and another day he was a criminal to be crucified. We must appreciate that the Son of God did not change Himself. That He remained for us the King, the Savior, and stayed with us in the Eucharist. My parishioners do not allow yourself to become uprooted from Jesus Christ, rich Catholic tradition, and His Church that we are proud to be members through the Sacrament of Christian unification: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. Remain under the Cross of Jesus Christ. His death on the Cross is our victory. Let us cross the bridge at the Easter Vigil at our church and declare that we will follow Resurrected Jesus for the rest of our lives. Make Him the Way, the Truth and the Life. But before that, let us suffer with the pain of rejecting sinful life. Venerating or adoring the Holy Cross on Friday, let us get the strength and determination to become a new person, maintaining holy life. Let us build God’s Church in our hearts, homes and our community. Let us invite our friends, neighbors, media, politicians, teachers, doctors, and all who feel that there is a God, Creator of the Universe, life and heaven to join us. Holy Saturday – Easter Vigil reminds us about our origin and roots. You can enter the way of Jesus by works of Mercy. Jesus offers us mercy; St Faustina explained the role of mercy in our lives. On Divine Mercy Sunday, we all are invited to St. Malachy Parish for a regional celebration of this day with many parishes and priests. I am going to preside at this Mass with many concelebrants. If you are seeking a new way to follow Jesus, first seek His mercy. Make the most of your Holy Week Journey!
God Bless, Fr. Bogdan

Growing Faith...Engaging Hearts
Holy Week
Palm Sunday begins the holiest week of the Catholic liturgical year. The Mass begins with all of us joining with the disciples of Jesus’ time in rejoicing that the Messiah has come. The palm branches that we receive symbolize peace and victory. We share in Jesus’ suffering, death, and Resurrection. This is also a time for us to reflect on our own lives and to relive the events which brought about our salvation. The Holy Week liturgy presents us with the events of what Jesus went through for us. We should reflect on our own dying to sin and rising in Jesus, which resulted in reconciliation and redemption for us. In doing this we allow Jesus to forgive our sins, to heal the wounds in us caused by our sins and the sins of others, and to transform us into the image and likeness of God. Participating in the Holy Week liturgy will help deepen our relationship with God, increase our faith, and strengthen our lives so we can live as a disciple of Jesus and proclaim His Good News to others. God Bless,
Sandy Acord
