Principal’s report
Dear families,If you have visited the school lately you will have seen the workmen busily constructing the new disabled access ramp to the hall. It has been exciting to see the ramp finally near completion after 12 months of planning and preparation. The date for completion is 30th November, with the concrete being poured by the end of the week and the handrails installed next week.
Kindergarten 2019 Parent Information Sessions Information sessions for parents of children commencing Kindergarten in 2019 were held today in the Library. It was encouraging to see so many parents come along to hear important information to assist in a successful transition to Kindergarten for their child. We look forward to welcoming them into Kindergarten next year.

policy (available upon request).• Permission for students to have a device at school is dependent upon parents and students signing the “Appropriate Use of Communication Devices at School” agreement which is available at the front office.• Students are advised that if they bring a mobile phone onto the school grounds during the school day, they and their parent(s) need to complete the Mobile Phones at School agreement. Mobile phones should be switched off as soon as students enter the school grounds. Phones must be kept turned off and handed in to the front office as soon as the student enters the school grounds at the beginning of the school day. At the completion of the school day, the student is permitted to retrieve their mobile phone from the front office as they are leaving the school grounds. • In line with our School Wellbeing Policy, for students who fail to follow these guidelines, the following sanctions may be applied including the temporary confiscation of the device (handed back to student at the end of the day or parent contacted to retrieve the device when available) and a student’s permission to bring devices to school being revoked by the Principal.
I would appreciate your support in ensuring that our school’s core business of teaching and learning needs to be conducted in an environment free from unnecessary distractions or disruptions.Lockhart Swim Celebration DayOn Tuesday 18th December, we are holding our annual swim celebration day for the year at the Lockhart Pool complex. It will be exciting to trial a new venue this year and we are sure that the students will enjoy the day. As always, students will need to continue to display our values of Respect, Responsibility and Care and Co-operation to attend the day. Permission notes will be sent out next week with details about the day including travel arrangements and cost.
Have a great week.Matthew Gray

Bimbi Preschool ExcursionLast week the Gugubarra’s went on excursion to the Victory Memorial Gardens and the Wollundry Lagoon. We enjoyed learning about the birds and animals that we saw and talked about how to care for them. Jackie shared the story of the Wawi which can be found in the lagoon and we also enjoyed studying the beautiful murals. To finish the day we listened to a story in the library before catching the bus back to preschool.
