• Reproduction- the process by which new organisms are produced. It is essential to the continuation of life on Earth.

• Gametes- Human reproductive cells• Sperm cell- male gamete• Ova (egg cell)- female gamete • Offspring- sperm cell and egg cell come

together to produce offspring. The Offspring has some characteristics of both parents.

Asexual Reproduction

• One parent needed• There is very little chance of variation with

asexual reproduction. • Examples:

Sexual Reproduction

• Two parents are required (one male, one female)

• leads to genetic variation in new generations of offspring

• Examples: Tiger Giraffe
