Beforestartingarecordingsession,settherequiredrecordingqualityandmicrophonesensitivity.Whenyourecordinenvironmentswithlotsofnoiseinthebackground(e.g.whileinacrowdorwhiletravelingbytrainorcar),youcanenablethenoisereductionfunctiontoreducethebackgroundnoise(seealsochapter8.1.3Enabling/disablingnoisereduction,page29).

Whenvoice-activatedrecordingisenabled,recordingwillstartwhenyoubeginspeaking.Whenyoustopspeaking,thedevicewillautomaticallypauserecordingafterthreesecondsofsilenceandwillresumeonceyoubeginspeakingagain.Usethevoiceactivationleveltosetthevolumeatwhichthedeviceshouldbeginrecording.
