RMG and Unions – Mediation Journey
• In 2013 RMG, Unite and CWU review the B&H procedures
• Partnership Project Team was established between RMG, TCM and the Unions
• In 2014 meditation was embedded into the B&H policy
• Parallel to this was a review with the CWU of the Industrial Relations Framework and the introduction of the Agenda for Growth
• In 2014 mediation also embedded into the Industrial Relations Framework
• 2014 TCM appointed as the external mediator to carry out B&H mediations
• Principle Resolution Consultant seconded from TCM
• Ten internal mediators appointed for Industrial Relations mediations

Supporting IR Mediation Programme• Despite a high Agreement rate, in IR mediations, feedback
and follow ups have revealed there is not always enough support for the parties post mediation
• We now provide a post-mediation programme for• key stakeholders (e.g. DSM and Area Rep)• other interested parties in the area
• The purpose of this programme is to• Provide support for parties and their agreement• Secure handover from mediators to referrers• Further develop IR skills and behaviours• Emphasis on the importance of adhering to
agreements
