a response or at least a yes or not. Thespeaker may use the syntactic structure of adeclarative sentence with intonation and
facial expression, thus creating ainterrogative yes-no utterance.

In questions, the word order subject-verbs-object is thesame as in affirmative sentences. The only thing thatsdifferent is that you usually have to put the auxiliaryverb (or the main verb be) before the subject.Interrogatives are put at the beginning of thesentences:
