DRIVING THE MOMENTUM OF MILLENNIAL’S
MILLENNIAL TALENT SEMINAR1ST OCTOBER BRUSSELS
ORSOLYA NEMES / GENERATION Y EXPERT / Y CONSULTINGI am a member of Generation Y who loves to explore, engage, inspire and get inspired. I help
organizations to understand the Millennial way of thinking better, to bridge generation gaps,
how to get their attention, and how to turn themselves into love brands. If you want to know
more about Millennials - or to hire / keep them, ask an expert, who researches them and is one
of them - like me!
My mission is to make an impact on how people create and share their thoughts. I work with
multinational companies as well as startups and individuals and enpower them to communicate
their message better. I am a guest author in the 2014 HVG Business magazine issues on effective
presentations.
In recent years Orsolya has presented at many international events including TEDx, HR Minds
Forum, and the Microsft Opening Windows.
WELCOME
Welcome to the third installment of Icon’s future talent & leadership series. Following our
successful Future Leadership and the 8th Diversity & Inclusion Seminars which focussed
on the innovative and evolving ways of Leadership & Diversity and New Ways of Working,
we are delighted to bring you our third installment, “Driving The Momentum of Millennial’s
Seminar that will take place in Brussels on Thursday October 1st.
In keeping with the millennial theme of fast paced learning, this one day seminar will cover
three main sections of the Millennial Talent question.
Firstly we will examine how companies recruit & attract millennial talent through social media.
Secondly we will look at how you develop and engage early talent before finally exploring
how you retain millennial talent.
One of the important criteria we set for our presenters, was that their organisations have an
effective working millennial program in place. With this we will examine how these leading
companies are delivering effective results while also laying successful ‘how to’ approaches
and strategic models for the future.
We invite you to join us for this one day conference with robust research, case studies, debate
sessions, roundtable discussions and keynote presentations.
See you in Brussels.Icon

The Female Millennial: A New Era of TalentOrganisations are currently facing the challenges that come with vast numbers of millennial talent entering and reshaping the workforce. In parallel, they are also challenged with a lack of women in leadership posi-tions and fast becoming concerned with the financial and competitive toll this could mean for their organi-sations. • Organisations looking to address the gender leadership gap must drive parallel efforts that tackle en-hanced leadership diversity in conjunction with systemic change efforts targeting the workforce from day 1 • To get this right, organisations must better understand how to attract, develop, engage and retain female millennial talent. • Our research identifies that one thing is clear: when it comes to the female millennial we really are talking about a new era of talent. This presentation will explore the findings from latest millennial research study, providing insights into the minds of the female millennial.
10:40 – 11:25 Johannes Sundlo HR Controller / SPOTIFY
Social Media Is Dead: Long Live Social MediaSocial media is no longer a specific media. It just is. And it is a crucial part for millions of people so we in the HR arena need to get it and we need to get it right. • How do we work with social media as an integrated part of the everyday HR-work • How do we use it to attract world-class talent?
11:25 – 11:55 Coffee & Networking Break
11:55 – 12:40 Raf Seymus Founder & Managing Partner / EXELLYS
Bridging the gap between the academic and the business worldWhen we focus on the Belgian IT market, there are 3 large gaps between the academic and the business world: 1) A structural shortage of highly technically skilled graduates. Is there still fish in the pond? 2) Millennials have different expectations of ‘working’ than previous generations. They want something else but what exactly? 3) The knowledge and skills they bring from their education are not sufficient to get them integrated quickly in a professional organization. How do we really get them on board?
And yet some companies seem to have no problem at all with attracting, integrating and keeping these ‘smart creatives’ on board. Why do they succeed where other companies fail? What are they doing differently? How are they bridging these gaps?
In this interactive session, we will try to formulate an answer to these questions with insights and critical success factors to stay ahead in ‘the war for talent’ on following topics: • Talent acquisition • Talent integration • Talent retention
12:40 – 13:45 Networking Lunch
13:45 – 14:30 Kris Pawluk Product Marketing Manager, Growth Engine, EMEA / GOOGLE
The Why, the What and the HowWHY • Why you cannot keep doing what you have been doing for last 30+ years • Why Millennial matters and key points of difference vs other generations
WHAT • Create a smooth transition between generations of senior leaders & high-potential young talents • Benefits for organisations, senior leaders and millennial talent? • Better understanding of current corporate culture, external POV, higher retention, development and sponsorship for talented millenials. • What role should HR play in the project. Facilitator/Owner of the whole project
HOW • How to start the Reverse Mentoring program? • How to pick right participants? • How to build effective communication between senior leaders and millennials • Reverse Mentoring and matching personality styles. • How to set up expectations and evaluate effectiveness? • How to scale?
14:30 – 15:15 Tina Fuest Senior Program Manager EMEA, Early Talent & Diversity / SAP
The SAP “Millennial” StudyAs Early Talent Program Manager, Tina supports Millenials in EMEA Sales & Services at SAP, enabling them to grow and develop themselves with creative learning experiences, so that they can be successful in their roles. During this session she will explore: • Findings of Oxford Economics & SAPs Workforce 2020 study • Impact of the changing nature of employment on early Talent Retention • Best practices in increasing Millennial Employee Engagement
15:15 – 15:35 Networking Break & Coffee
15:35 – 16:20 Orsolya Nemes Generation Y Expert, Storyteller, Trainer
We Are Here and We Are ManyGenerational differences can be more than challenging in terms of cooperation at work. 20-somethings, aka Generation Y’ers or Millennials are causing more and more headache for recruiters and co-workers. They think differently, they act differenctly, they communicate differently, they work differently. Are they lazy, entitled narcissists who still live with their parents as the media and the public opinion suggests it, or is there another way to see them?
Is it possible, that they are simply a generation with different preferences and expectations? Orsolya gives a sneak peek behind the Gen Y curtain and unfolds why 20-somethings work the way they do. Stories, struggles and perspective of a true member of Generation Y.
16:20 – 17:00 INTERACTIVE Q&A SPEAKERS PANEL This final session will invite delegates to present their specific challenges through roundtable discus-sions. After which the Chair will raise these issues to the panel of Speakers from the seminar day. This provides an intersting platform for final thoughts from both the speakers and the delegate floor.
17:10 Chair’s closing remarks & Seminar Close
