PUBLICATION INCENTIVES FOR DEPARTMENT
In order to increased number of publication (ISI publication) to the academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine,Deputy Dean (Research) would like to suggest publication incentives to three clinical department and 3 non-clinical department who has produce highest ISI publication/ staff starting this year – 2015.
This suggestion is in conformity with the university requirement and it also will help university competecompetitively with other universities globally.
Purpose :• To increase number of publication (ISI publication) in faculty and to appreciate the most productive and
committed department in producing ISI publication• To develop research productivity within academic staff and help to encourage ISI publication• To motivate academic staff to improve in academic research publication productivity
Financial incentives will be given as below :(1) RM30k to department who produced highest of publication ratio (ISI publication/staff)(2) RM20k to department who produced second highest of publication ratio (ISI publication/ staff)(3) RM10k to department who produced third highest of publication ratio (ISI publication/ staff)
The expenditure of monetary incentives as below :(1) Department are encouraged to use the incentive to organize workshop related to research at department
level(2) Department are allowed to use the incentive to send staff for workshops or conferences(3) Monetary incentives received can be used to send students in the department to attend conferences(4) Monetary incentives received can be used to fund a page charge by student in the department(5) Monetary incentives can be used to hire a staff who will assist in matters related to research
Regulations :(1) Publication incentives will be announced by the Dean, Faculty of Medicine(2) Calculation ratio of publications (ISI publication/staff) will be retrieved from the system Web of
Knowledge on December 30 of each year. Only publication that appears in the Web of Knowledge at thedate of calculation will be counted
(3) The ratio calculations shall comply with the publication conditions that has already established by theUniversity of Malaya (eg, name of University of Malaya, department, faculty must be stated in thepublication)
(4) The calculation of the number of ISI publications does not involve the Centre of Research onlydepartment in the Faculty of Medicine only.
(5) In ratio calculation process, all types of document will be counted except Meeting Abstracts

CARA MEMOHON
Permohonan adalah dibuka
sepanjang tahun. Permohonan
boleh dibuat secara online melalui
portal staf:

KRITERIA PERMOHONAN(1) Pemohon tidak memegang geran
penyelidikan dari mana-mana sumber
dalam tempoh yang sama.
(2) Pemohon mesti menamakan
sekurang-kurangnya seorang staf
akademik sebagai penyelidik bersama.
(3) Permohonan adalah melalui Ketua
Pusat Penyelidikan/Kluster/Jabatan di
mana pemohon ditempatkan.
TEMPOH
PENYELIDIKAN12 bulan ke 24 bulan
Kelulusan adalah tertakluk kepada baki peruntukan yang masih ada. Garis

Permohonan hanya terbuka kepada kakitangan akademik yang bukan Ketua Penyelidik (P.I) kepadamana-mana projek penyelidikan. Berikut adalah kelayakan pemohon:
(I) Pensyarah Muda (Young Lecturer) yang berkhidmat kurang daripada 3 tahun
(II) Bekas felo SLAB/SLAI yang telah tamat pengajian dan sedang menunggu pelantikan di
Universiti Malaya
(iii) Felo Penyelidik Pelawat (Visiting Research Fellow) - Kontrak minimum 6 bulan, maksimum 1 tahunsahaja
Setiap penyelidik hanya dibenarkan memohon (BKP) sekali sahaja. Tempoh Penyelidikan adalahmaksimum dua tahun. Penyelidikan yang dibiayai dengan Bantuan Kecil Penyelidikan mesti
menghasilkan sekurang-kurangnya satu (1) penerbitan di Jurnal ISI (Q1-Q4) dengan jumlahmaksimum yang boleh dipohon bagi setiap projek adalah seperti berikut:
(I) Bidang Sains & Teknologi – RM60,000
(II) Bukan Sains & Teknologi – RM50,000
Setiap penyelidik yang dibiayai di bawah peruntukan BKP hendaklah memberi impak dan menyumbang ke arah pembangunan negara Malaysia. Kelulusan adalah tertakluk kepada baki
peruntukan yang masih ada. Pemegang Bantuan Kecil Penyelidikan tidak layak menerima Skim Geran Penyelidikan Universiti Malaya (UMRG) sehingga menamatkan projek penyelidikan di bawah BKP.
