Principal’s Message
Lip Dub
I am hoping by now that everyone has seen the green
permission note for our school “lip dub” video
currently in production. Please return these
permission slips as soon as possible.
Putting it shortly, this is a big project which is being
created by some of our senior students. While the
students are creating this video, the idea is to
showcase our school. As we lock down the plan for the
video, more details will be released and community are
warmly invited to join us on the day of filming.
Carols and Thank You
Please note that the date for our “Carols on the Lawn”
event has been changed to 6pm on Thursday 13th
December. With more information coming soon, I just
want to give advanced noticed that this is a family
event, with BYO picnics.
Part of the carols event will involve a raffle. I would like
to thank Speers Point’s newest café, Custom Expresso
for donations to our raffle, along with the great support
from Pippi’s and Shoal Bay Resort.
Uniform
There is no doubt that our students look great when
they are in full school uniform. Please be aware that
the uniform includes black shoes and our school hats.
Full uniform not only looks the part, but helps students
build pride in themselves and their appearance.
Attendance
While the holidays are coming, it is important to
remember that teachers are currently completing
assessments and reports of our students. Please
support us in stressing the importance of solid
attendance as we see out the year.
Have a great week
Chris Payne
K/3MB News
Where do eggs come from? What else do chickens give us that we eat? How many fruits or vegetables can we have? Well if you were in K/3MB you would know these answers. Our study of “Farm to Table” has helped us clarify our thoughts and identify what we eat and discuss why we eat them.

Car Creations in KB During Term 3 and 4 students in KB have explored various materials and have also been developing an understanding of how things move. We read a fantastic book called, “Minton goes Driving” by Anna Fienberg. In this story Minton builds a car out of recycled materials. We decided it looked like a fun challenge, so we have started building our own cars. Take a look!
Gymnastics During Term 4 all students at Speers Point Public School have the opportunity to participate in Gymnastics. This program is run by a trained professional as part of the Activated Sports Program. Please don’t forget to pay each Friday! It is only $4.50 per week or $36 for the 8 weeks.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth Cobcroft and I am the Assistant Principal at Speers Point Public School. I have worked at SPPS for almost 2 years and have enjoyed my 'sea change.' I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to teach 2/3E this year, it has been excellent!! We have had
some wonderful learning experiences; making sushi, participating in Cultural Days, the School Concert and Jump Rope for Heart as well as learning how to draw like famous artists just to name a few. This term in HSIE we are covering the unit 'Celebrations' where the children will learn about not only Australian celebrations but also those from around the world - Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Halloween and many more. At the conclusion of the unit we will be having our own celebration - to celebrate an excellent year and the excellent achievements of everyone in 2/3E. Birthdays Wishing the following students a very Happy Birthday! Alaska H 14th November Shakayla C 18th Harley T 18th Dominic B 20th P & C News
