• Definition: The ability to support a system through adequate financial and human resources accounting for current maintenance and long-term enhancements.
• Producing an enduring, efficient, effective, and sustainable ECIDS—is not a start-and-finish endeavor; there will always be more work to do to ensure it remains current and relevant.
• Sustainability can take many forms—the most important of which may often be showing the value of the data in informing decisions.
