READING PLAN2012-2013
GRADED READERSfor ESO and BACHILLERATO
Plan_lector_ingles 2012_Plan Lector Ingles 18/05/12 09:26 Página 1
Black Cat readers embrace an exciting new approach, which we call‘expansive reading’. Expansive reading aims to use the text that the
students read as a springboard to explore all kinds of areas – linguistic, cultural, cross-curricular and other. In doing so it aims to expand students’cultural horizons.
Over the next few pages, we present a reading plan of recommendedgraded readers for ESO and Bachillerato. This consists of eight care-
fully selected titles for each year group.

Reading Plan
The linguistic level of each title is indicated using the grading systemof the Common European Framework of Reference. In addition, the
exact grammatical and lexical areas presented in the integrated languageactivities are also detailed.
The theme of each book is described both in terms of the literary genre, and more specifically by indicating the topic areas presented in the
integrated background dossiers and Internet projects. In doing so, wehope to make it easier for you to choose a reader that is well suited tothe linguistic level of your class, and which also appeals to their interests.
Should you require any further guidance in choosing a reader, bothour local Vicens Vives representative and our specialist ELT advisor
would be delighted to assist you.
