Range
Electric vehicles can only travel the distance that their battery will allow. Battery technology is not yet
advance enough for electric vehicles to be more than an “around town” car.
The Model S utilizes small, cylindrical, energy dense lithium-
ion battery cells. This allows for more energy per in3 of space than in any other electric vehicle. Allows the Model S to surpass the range of the longest range EV currently on
the market by 300%

The battery pack in Model S is flat, is situated inconspicuously between the
wheels. The diminutive size of the battery cells allows them to be arranged and
stacked incredibly compactly, and allowed for the battery to be integrated into the into
the vehicles frame.

Charge Time
The electric component of the car is wonderful until the battery runs dead and you have to wait
up to 20 hours to fully recharge. It takes four minutes to refuel your car.
Tesla has specially developed a unique charging interface that allows a user to
recharge their Model S 60x faster than the current #1 selling electric vehicle connected
to 120v outlet.
Infrastructure
The absence of a strong charging station infrastructure across the United States makes driving electric vehicles impractical, and many
times inconvenient.
The infrastructure is developing FAST. Stations can be installed ANYWHERE through leveraging the United States’ expansive electrical grid. Currently, more than half of U.S
homeowners have access to a plug for charging.
Cost
The inherently expensive nature of large batteries utilized in electric vehicles incurs a hefty MSRP. And chances are you won’t drive the car long enough to experience substantial
savings.
The use of smaller battery cells allows Tesla to cuts costs in manufacturing by taking advantage of economies of scale. The small size of the battery cells allows the most energy-dense battery materials available to be used; Better energy density reduces materials costs.
The Experience
Electric cars ride smoother and are free of any and all vibrations and engine-incurred noises – Duh.
The driving experience isn’t the same. True purists would never sacrifice the feeling of hemi under the hood and the distinct roar of a V-8.
