St. Polycarp parishioners should have received information in the mail regarding the proposed plans and the Planning Study survey along with a return envelope. The mailing also included instructions on how to complete the survey online, should you prefer this method of responding. If you did not receive this information in the mail, there are extra surveys in both English and Spanish in the back of the church, along with instructions on how to complete the online survey. If you have not completed the survey, please do so. You can send your survey in via the mail or drop it off at the parish office. Advent, which begins this year on the evening of Saturday, December 2, is a period for devout and joyful expectation. According to the General Norms for the Liturgical Year and the Calendar, Advent has a
twofold character: a) as a season to prepare for Christmas when Christ’s first coming to us is remembered and b) as a season when that remembrance directs the mind and heart to await Christ’s Second Coming at the end of time.
Advent is a season that brings to mind the Two Comings of Christ. Might we suggest that you consider making the season more meaningful by attending weekday Mass during the three week period of Advent?
The 6:30 a.m. Mass finishes by 7 a.m. (except for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Friday, December 8).

FAITH FORMATION PARENT CLASSES Our bilingual parents are invited to stay for prayer, fellowship and Bible study in room 18 while the students are in class on Saturdays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
Casino trips are Family Support Center's only fundraisers. These funds, and donations from the community, are our only source of income. FSC distributes food to those in need every Monday and Wednesday. We also help with financial aid, on a limited basis, for those who need emergency assistance. We need your help to continue in this ministry: Last year we distributed food to over 16,000 individuals! Please, if you are able, consider joining us on a trip. You will have a good time and, at the same time, be performing a Corporal work of Mercy. We appreciate your consideration!

BAUTISMOS PASOS :
Papás y padrinos, deberan asistír el primer Domingo del mes a las 10:00 am para registrar a su hijo(a) y al mísmo tiempo para tomar la clase requerida. Padres: Traer una copia del certificado de nacimiento de su hijo(a). No traiga el original. Padrinos: Traer una copia del acta de matrimonio de la Iglesia donde se casaron. El Segundo Domingo de Cada mes es la Ceremonia del Bautísmo a las 2:00 pm. Habra una segunda platica el Viernes despues del Bautizo a las 7:00pm. Costo $50 por niño; $25 si solamente toma la plática

A veces puede parecer abrumador tratar de hacer lo que Jesús nos enseña. Santa Teresa de Calcuta sabía que Jesús nunca nos pediría que hagamos algo que él mismo no haría, y por medio de la experiencia de su vida nos dejó estas palabras para vivir: "Nunca te preocupes por los números. Ayuda a una persona a la vez y siempre comienza con la persona más cercana a ti ".
SỨ MẠNG CỦA GIÁO XỨ.
Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa, chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.

9- Tĩnh Tâm Mùa Vọng.- Cộng đoàn sẽ tổ chức 2 tối tĩnh tâm Mùa Vọng vào lúc 7giờ tối các ngày Thứ Ba ngày 5 và Thứ Tư ngày 6 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại Thánh đường, do Cha Hoài Chương hướng dẫn với chủ đề “Hãy dọn sẵn con đường của Đức Chúa sửa lối cho thẳng để Người đi”. Mỗi buổi tĩnh tâm đều kết thúc bằng Thánh lễ. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian than dự. 10- Chương trình lễ Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội.- Ngày 8 tháng 12 là ngày lễ kính Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội, bổ mạng của Giáo Hội Hoa kỳ, lễ trọng và buộc. Chương trình lễ tiếng Việt của Cộng đoàn như sau: Thứ Năm ngày 7 tháng 12 năm 2017, Cộng đoàn sẽ cử hành Lễ Vọng kính Đức Mẹ vào lúc 8giờ tối. Thứ Sáu ngày 8 tháng 12 năm 2017, Cộng đoàn có cử hành Thánh lễ kính Đức Mẹ (lễ chính ngày) vào lúc 8giờ tối. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. Xin lư ý: tối Thứ Sáu ngày 8 tháng 12, Cộng đoàn không có thánh lễ tiếng Việt lúc 6giờ 30 tối như thường lệ. Xin theo dõi chương trình ngày lễ kính Đức Mẹ tại Giáo xứ trong Bản tin của Giáo xứ (buletin) và chương trình lễ kính Đức Mẹ bằng tiếng Việt tại các Cộng đoàn Việt nam trong Giáo phận tại tờ Hiệp thông. 11- Chương trình Giải tội Mùa Vọng của Giáo xứ.- Giáo xứ có một buổi giải tội Mùa Vọng tập thể cho các sắc dân trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 7giờ tối Thứ Năm ngày 14 tháng 12 năm 2017. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự để giải hòa vời Thiên Chúa và anh chị em. Xin lưu ý: vì trong Mùa Vọng, các Linh mục trong Giáo xứ sẽ đến các Giáo xứ trong hạt để giải tội cho Giáo dân nên các tối Thứ Hai, Giáo xứ không có giờ giải tôi. Riêng giờ giải tội chiều Thứ Bảy vẫn diễn ra bình thường. 12- Thực hiện dự án Trung Tâm Sinh Hoạt của Giáo xứ.- Giáo xứ đã gởi về mỗi gia đình trong Giáo xứ một bao thư để tham khảo về dự án xây dựng Trung Tâm Sinh Hoạt của Giáo xứ bằng tiếng Anh. Ngoài ra Giáo xứ cũng có để sẵn bản tham khảo ý kiến của Giáo dân cho dự án này tại cuối Thánh đường (có bản tiếng Việt). Xin Cộng đoàn dân Chúa tích cực tham gia, cố gắng đọc và tìm hiểu về dự án và trả lời những câu hỏi cùng ý kiến, gởi về Văn phòng Giáo xứ để đúc kết trước khi có kế hoạch thực hiện dự án. Rất mong toàn thể Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa nhiệt liệt hưởng ứng. Có thể trả lời tham khảo trên trang mạng của Giáo xứ.
THÔNG BÁO CỘNG ĐOÀN.
1- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ 3giờ30 đến 5giờ vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy hằng tuần. Xin kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự giờ chầu Thánh Thể nêu trên. 2- Giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót của Giáo xứ.- Sau Thánh lễ 8giờ30 sáng từ Thứ Hai đến Thứ Bảy trong tuần, Giáo xứ có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Anh, và vào lúc 3giờ chiều mỗi ngày, Cộng đoàn có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Việt tại Thánh đường (hoặc tại Đài Đức Mẹ). Riêng chiều Thứ Sáu có thêm khấn Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng tham dự. 3- Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ.- Giáo xứ sẽ Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 2giờ30 trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 cho những em đã ghi danh. Xin quí cha mẹ và người đỡ đầu có mặt đầy đủ và đúng giờ. 4- Huynh đoàn Đaminh không có buổi sinh hoạt tháng 11/2017.- Huynh đoàn Đan Minh Vinh Sơn Liêm xin thông báo: Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 là Chúa Nhật Thứ Tư trong tháng 11 và cũng là ngày Cộng Đông Công Giáo Việt Nam Giáo phận Orange tổ chức lễ mừng kính Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam tại Đại học UCI. Do đó Huynh Đoàn Đaminh Vinh Sơn Liêm của Cộng đoàn sẽ không có buổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng như thường lệ. 5- Xe bus tham dự Đại Lễ Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam.- Ban Thường Vụ đã mướn 2 xe bus để chở Giáo dân tham dự Đại lễ Các Thánh Tử Đạo Việt Nam vào Chúa Nhật ngày 26 tháng 11 năm 2017 tại Đại học UCI. Những ai đã mua vé xin có mặt tại sân trường học Giáo xứ trước 8giờ15 sáng để sửa soạn lên xe. Xin đem theo vé để lên xe. Vì số vé đã được phân phối hết nên chỉ những người có vé mới có thể lên xe. 6- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể Thứ Sáu đầu tháng.- Thứ Sáu ngày 1 tháng12 năm 2017 là ngày Thứ Sáu đầu tháng. Cộng đoàn có mở cửa Nhà Tạm và chầu Thánh Thể lúc 3giờ chiều, cùng với giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Sau đó lúc 6giờ chiều có chầu Thánh Thể và đền tạ Thánh Tâm Chúa, 6giờ30 Thánh lễ. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. 7- Thực hiện Máng Cỏ ngoài trời.- Cộng đoàn sẽ thực hiện Máng Cỏ ngoài trời vào 2 ngày Thứ Bảy và Chúa Nhật 2 và 3 tháng 12 năm 2017, từ 8giờ sáng đến 4giờ chiều. Xin quí Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa, nhất là các bạn trẻ đến phụ giúp cho công tác mau hoàn tất. 8- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo sinh hoạt.- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo của Cộng đoàn sẽ có buổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng vào lúc 2giờ chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 3 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời quí Đoàn viên và Hội viên đến tham dự đông đủ.

Những giỏ quà Giáng Sinh sẽ được thu nhận tại văn phòng Hội Bảo Trợ Gia Đình và tại văn phòng Giáo xứ bắt đầu từ thứ Ba, ngày 28 tháng 11 năm 2017 và kết thúc vào thứ Ba ngày 12 tháng 12 năm 2017. Văn phòng Hội Bảo Trợ Gia Đình CHỈ nhận các giỏ quà vào các thứ Ba ngày 28 tháng 11, ngày 5 tháng 12, và ngày 12 tháng 12 từ 9:30 giờ sáng đến 12 giờ trưa. Văn phòng Giáo xứ mở cửa từ thứ Hai đến thứ Sáu, từ 10 giờ sáng đến 12 trưa và từ 2 giờ chiều đến 6 giờ chiều.
