The root has the following jobs: 1. to grip tightly to the soil so the plant
stays in place 2. to absorb the water and mineral

A plant’s stem has two basic functions: they support the leaves and they carry water and food from place to place inside the plant.
A tree’s trunk is a type of stem.

The leaf’s main job is to make food for the plant during photosynthesis.
A leaf uses carbon dioxide, water, nutrients, and sunlight to produce glucose, a type of sugar. This is called the “product”.
A by-product is oxygen and a little bit of water that leaves the leaf during transpiration.

The flower is where the reproduction of some plants happens (many plants do not use flowers to reproduce).
Once the flower is pollinated, it forms a fruit. A fruit is where the seeds are kept. Many times fruit helps in the spread of seeds.
The seed is the immature plant.
