Eligible childrenandtheirparent(s)will attendfour2-hourworkshops overfourconsecutiveweeks(Friday afternoonorSaturdaymorningoptions available).Eachchildwillparticipateingroupdrumming, storytellinganddancesessions ledbyahighly-trained teaching-artistwhiletheirparent/guardianlearnsabouttheDrumball – arhythm-basedmultimodal tool.

Urban Griots is a drumming andearly literacy workshop forpreschool children (and older)facilitated through an embodiedmode of learning that blendsrhythmic movement with computermedia interaction. Children areintroduced to the Drumball - adigital device and mobile app thatturns beats into letters andwords.
