Protect our Biodiversity! Invasive Species Profile: Lionfish
Lionfish first came to our shores in 2010.
They have no natural predators in Dominica, and are threatening the quality of our marine resource. Lionfish, whose tips are poisonous,
devour our native species and affect our diving industry. You can help by learning how to
carefully handle & prepare lion fish for consumption. For more information, contact the
Fisheries Division.

If there are empty lots or unused space in your
community, consider organizing a clean-up & restoration project
to transform it into a recreational area. A small park or garden can help uplift your
community.
Sand Bay Beach, Marigot: the Marigot Community Tourism Committee improved beach access, erected washroom facilities & a gazebo to create a community tourism and recreational space in Marigot.
