Education SystemThe present system of higher education does
not serve the purpose for which it has been
started. In general education itself has be-come
so profitable a business that quality is lost in the
increase of quantity of professional institutionswith quota system and politicization adding fuel
to the fire of spoil system, thereby increasing
unemployment of graduates without quick relief
to mitigate their sufferings in the job market of
the country. So, the drawbacks of the higher
education system underscore the need for
reforms to make it worthwhile and beneficial to
all concerned.
Competition:
Next to China, India is the most populated
country in the world. Naturally there is too much
rush and competition in every field. So, rush to
technical and higher education has increased as
scope for arts and science has become lesser
and lesser due to lack of reforms and up
gradation in the course structure and materials
according to the developments of the world.
Purpose of Education:
All round development of personality is the
purpose of education. But the present day
education is neither imparting the trueknowledge of life, world and helping one stand
on ones own leg nor is improving the talent of a
student by which one can achieve laurels in the
field one interested. So, combination of arts
subjects and computer science and science and
humanities or literature should be introduced so
that such courses could be useful for the
students to do jobs after recruitment in some
companies which would reduce unnecessary
rush to higher education.
Right Course of Action:
In India around 240 Universities controlling
somewhere 5000 colleges of various courses
churning out millions of graduates seeking jobs
in vain due to lack of employability,
communication skill and entrepreneurship
quality. In Tamil Nadu State of India alone (from
2000 to 2006) more than 600, 000 students are
hunting for jobs without hope due to political
rivalries and lack of investments in job
generating manufacturing units and companies.
This is one side of the picture.
On the other side, all want to be-come Engineers
or Doctors or Computer specialists in IT or
Software, which is beyond the reach of many
and also, all, cannot shine in such a line if not
suited later on. So, to overcome
disappointments in the working life clear
appraisal of ones Self is necessary before
pursuing a course of action.
For that not specialization but general education
covering all subjects (arts, science, literature,
technology, and agriculture and defense studies)
is very essential.
After education, tour to all the places in India
and world as far as possible with the
cooperation of government is necessary so that
one can understand about people, culture, arts,
literature, religions, technological developments
and progress of human society in the world.
Basing this knowledge one should have a vision
of ones future life and work in the world and
decide about the future course of action, i.e.
whether to go for higher education or do job
suitable to one.
Finally, based on knowledge only vision of the
future life and work can be had; based on this
vision only a broad ambition can be fixed for
oneself; and based on this ambition only one
can lead interesting life doing satisfying job to
do remarkable achievements in some field in the
world.
Individuality
Otherwise, the life of one will not be interesting
but rather boring, monotonous and frustrating.
This is mainly due to parental interference in theeducation of the children. Parental guidance is
ne-cessary but it should not interfere in the
creativity or individuality of the students. Also, in
spite of the obsolete type of education system,
some are achieving wonderful things in Sports,
Music, Dance, Painting, Science and Technology
in the world! This is only due to the
-

encouragement of the parents and some
dedicated teachers in the educational
institutions.
Higher Education:
Higher education is necessary for one to achieve
excellence in the line one is best. But one should
be selected for higher education on the basis of
merit only. Further, fees for education in general
should not be high; especially, the fees for
higher studies should be within the reach of
every class of people in the nation.
Standard:
In any nation education is the basic necessity for
the socio-economic development of the
individuals and the society. In reality only 20% of
the population is educated in India. Also, only25% of the Universities are having world class
education. So, improved standard of education
as first priority should be offered to the majority
by the govt. authorities with sincere political will.
Also, privatization of higher education is
absolutely necessary in a vast country like India
as government alone is helpless to do so.
Quality:
That is the way peoples quality of life can be
improved and also, the nation can economically
compete with the developed nations of the
world. So, private educational in-situations can
give higher education to all irrespective of
economic status of the students. As far as quality
of education is concerned it should be under the
control of a central institute such as All India
Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the
respective Universities concerned.
World Class Education:
Indian government is not giving priority to the
development of Standard in education. Indiashould aspire for the international standard in
education. To achieve that goal it should adopt
uniform international syllabus in its educational
institutions.
Many national universities like in the USA, UK,
Australia, etc. allow studies in higher education
for foreign students in their countries and
through correspondence courses as well. In the
same way India Universities of world class
education can also offer courses of studies to
foreign students taking advantage of the
globalization process.
Personality Development:
Finally, education should be for the flowering of
personality but not for the suppression of
creativity or natural skill. In the globalized world
opportunities for the educated people are
naturally ample in scope. As a result business
process outsourcing (BPO) activities have
increased competition in the world trade leading
towards the production of quality goods and
their easy availability everywhere in the world
market. That is the way the world can bedeveloped for peace, prosperity and progress by
able and skilful men.

Education (A Treasure)Learning is not bounded by any time, age.
Education is one thing that is above of all
barriers, it helps in clearing up all barriers. It canbe started at any point of time, age and at any
phase of life. Education is limitless, the more you
earn the more you are able to develop yourself.
Never think that you are too old for this, you can
learn and educate yourself at any time.
Education improves personality of a person. It
gives confidence and makes a person capable of
moving and communicating in todays society.
These days there is so much to learn that one is
always yearning for knowledge. So many
professional courses are there that adds to the
educational qualification. Many retired people,
older people or even professionals are indulged
in some or the other professional course. They
are not only acquiring knowledge but also
scoring well at the same time.
Education should not be limited, it is one thing
that can be started at any point of time. By
acquiring knowledge from various fields a

person can apply his skills to any field. He or she
can try out other professional jobs also by
having knowledge from various fields. Education
is good for a persons future life also. In todays
competitive scenario if a person is educated he
can teach his children well and make them
capable of coping with the competition.
Education can be a good source of income also,
as one can teach children by taking tuitions and
one can be a professional teacher in any school
or college. Education is such a treasure that
remains with a person throughout his life. Its
such a treasure that keeps on increasing the
more one distributes it. Education is such a thing
that rewards a person in one way or another. It
should always be spread and should not be kept
hidden within. A person can think of studying at
any point of time, at whatever time he will starthell get benefited with the divine light of
education.

TIME FOR CHANGE:Towards the end of last year, I asked a man who
works closely with business schools how he
would characterize their attitude over the past
year. He responded instantly: as a bunch of
ostriches with their heads in the sand. He then
paused for a moment, and then added: With a
herd of buffalo heading towards them.
Cynical he may be, but he does have a point.
After a year of economic turmoil and academic
trauma, most business schools seem to have
become paralysed.
There have been some changes to the
curriculum to reflect growing concerns about
unethical behavior, and to beef up technical
courses in subjects such as risk management andfinancial derivatives.
On top of that, some individual professors and
deans have proposed that business education
needs to more rigorously codified or
professionalized, to bring it into line with sectors
such as medicine and law Rakesh Khurana at
Harvard and Frank Brown at Instead have been
at the forefront of this movement. Spearheaded
by one Harvard graduate, thousands of MBA
students around the world have signed an oathto proclaim that they will behave ethically, a
move that has been greeted with enthusiasm by
some and hoots of derision by others.
But deep down, what has really changed? As
investment bankers begin hiring again this
summer, will we see MBA graduates eschewing

College Chronicle-The Beginning of the new magazine 18
these jobs, or will they take the bankers shilling
just like their predecessors?
For although business school professors like to
spend years tinkering with the curriculum, most
seem unable to contemplate the idea of
changing the structure of their programmers,
especially in the US, where the two-year MBA
dominates the market.
This two-year programmed brings with it one
inherent problem: debt. Not only are there
tuition fees to pay but MBA students have to live
for two years without income. According to
Harvard Business School, which has one of the
worlds most generous scholarship schemes for
its students, those who graduated with a
Harvard MBA in 2009 were in debt to the tune,on average, of almost $77,000. Graduates from
top schools with fewer resources faced even
greater debts.
This then begs the question: who would want to
do this? One answer is that thousands of
managers around the world vie for these
coveted qualifications every year. But the
statistics show that they are a self-selecting
group.
To begin with, they are men. A cursory glance
over the statistics for the top business schools
shows that 60 per cent or more of the admitted
class are male. At London Business School, the
top two-year programmed, the figure is a
whopping 73 per cent.
Second, they are people who are prepared to
take the risk of investing two years out of their
lives without the guarantee of a high-paying job
at the end of it, as this years graduates found
out.
And even for those who are not high risk-taking
males, whatever their good intentions, debt are
a highly persuasive ingredient in the decision-
making process when looking for a job. It is a
brave person who turns down a lucrative
banking job to work for a not-for-profit
organization if they owe almost $90,000.
Those who run one-year MBA programmers may
be feeling smug at this point. Yes, they are much
better value for money, but they present many
of the same problems and graduate very similar
people. Looking at the typical profile of an MBA
student, it is easy to see why this privileged
group has gained the image of being arrogant
and aggressive alpha males. And bearing all
these factors in mind, it is easy to see why MBA
students have been blamed for the current
economic crisis.
None of which is particularly helpful if the role of
business schools is to help create and run more
successful businesses. In order to achieve this, there are several questions that business schools
must answer.
First, how can they attract a wide range of
students from different backgrounds on to their
programmes? Second, how can they help
promote gender diversity in the boardroom?
And third, how can they teach managers what
they need to know at the point when they need
to know it?

Dialogue on the problems of
youth by Daisaku Ikeda.
TALENT
Q: I feel ordinary, like I have no special abilities
or talent?
A:That just isnt true. The problem lies in people
limiting themselves. Everyone has some kind of
gift .Being talented doesnt just mean being a
good musician, writer or athlete--- there are
many kinds of talent. For instance, you may be a
great conversationalist or make friends easily or
put other at ease. Or you may have a gift for
nursing, a knack for telling jokes, selling thingsor economizing. You may be always punctual,
patient, reliable, kind or optimistic. You may love
new challenges or be strongly com-mitted to
peace or to bringing joy to others.
Each of us is as unique as a cherry blossom,
plum blossom, peach blossom, or damson
blossom. Each blossom is distinctly wondrous,
accordingly, each blossom in the way that only it
can.
Without a doubt each person has an innate
talent. The question is: How do you discover that
talent? The only way is to exert you to the limit
in
Whatever is before you? Your true potential will
emerge when you give everything youve got to
your studies, sports, extracurricular activities or
whatever you are engaged in.
UNDERSTANDING EQUALITY
Q: The world is filled with hatred. What can
person do?
A: Unless we build a society that regards human
beings not as means to a goal but as the goal
itself, we will remain forever deadlocked in
inequality, UN happiness and violence where the
strong prey upon the weak. We will simply
repeat the same patterns.
It is vital that we teach the citizens of allnations to see them-selves and others first and
fore-most as human beings.
We have to raise peoples awareness of human
rights through education. Our schools must
teach human rights, our religions must teach
human rights and our governments must respect
human rights.
A childs heart does not discriminate. If they
arent taught discrimination by others, childrenof all races play happily together. And children
are not the least bit interested in how well-off
the families of their playmates are or what kinds
of work their parents do. They assume that all
human beings are equal.
South Africa maintained an unparalleled state of
harsh discrimination against the majority of its
citizens. Under apartheid, it was a crime for black
South Africa to ride a Whites Only bus, to use
a Whites Only drinking fountain, to walk on a
Whites Only beach, to be on the streets past
11:00 pm., to travel, to be un employed and to
live in certain places. In short black South
Africans were not treated as human being.
CHANGING CARRIERS:
-
8/2/2019 our college magazine
21/61
College Chronicle-The Beginning of the new magazine 21
Q: What if you start following one dream but
have a change of heart and want to pursue a
different path?
A:Thats perfectly all right. Few people end up
doing what they planned or dreamed of doing in
the beginning. In my case, I wanted to be a
newspaper reporter, but my poor health,
prevented me from pursuing that profession.
Today, however, I have become a writer.
At one point, I worked for a small publishing
company. Because of its small staff, I had to
work very hard but, because of that, I gained a
great deal of practical experience.
After the war, I worked for another small
operation, but what I went through on that jobgave me a chance to really look at myself.
Everything I learned back then is of value to my
life now. The important thing is to develop
yourself in your present situation and to take
control of your growth.
Once you have decided on a job, I hope you will
not be the kind of person who quits at the drop
of hat or is always insecure and com-plaining.
Nevertheless, if after youve given it your all, you
decided that your job isnt right for you and youmove on, thats all right, too.
Taking your place as a member of a society is a
challenge; it is a struggle to survive. But
wherever you are is exactly where you need to
be, so strive there to the best of your ability.
A tree doesnt grow strong and tall within one or
two days. In the same way, successful people
didnt become successful in only a few years.
This applies to everything.
GAINING FOCUS
Q: Im not sure what I want to do with my life.
How do I get more focused?
A: Although it is natural to be un-sure about
your future, its crucial that you try to accomplish
something anything. The thought of that
might seem overwhelming. But has the ancient
saying goes, the journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step. Discovering our goals
and dreams begins with the first step of deciding
to find them. From there, we proceed step by
step in steady increments through daily efforts.
The track star Emil Zatopek of Czechoslovakia,
who won the 1952 Olympic mens marathon,
found his training so excruciating at times that
he would tell himself, Ill just try to make it to
the next telephone pole. Then, when he
reached it, he would say to himself again, OK,
Ill just go as far as the next one, and push
himself a little further. These persistent efforts to
keep challenging himself ultimately led to his
victory.
So do something! Start some-thing! As you
make consistent ef-forts, you will begin to see
your goals come into focus. You will discover
your mission the one only you can fulfill.
For, example it is important to develop skills in
areas you enjoy. The key is to have something in
which you can take pride, some-thing you are
willing to challenge. It might be excelling in
math, foreign language, sports, and extracurricular activity, making friend or doing
volunteer work. The people around you may
know you better in someway that you do
yourself, so if you summon up the courage to
ask them for advice, you might find the doors to
new possibilities opening unexpectedly.
A solid foundation is essential in all things. No
building can stand without a foundation. The
same is true in life. And the time to construct
that foundation is now, during your youth. As
the French writer Romain Rolland noted, apyramid cannot be build from the top down.
FACING UP TO PROBLEM
Q: When I face problem, running away
sometimes seems like the ea-siest solution.

College Chronicle-The Beginning of the new magazine 22
A: You can run away, of course. That freedom
exists. But it is a very small, petty freedom. It
only leads to a life of great hardship, a life in
which you will be powerless, weak and
completely frustrated.
Alongside this small freedom, how-ever, exists a
much greater free-dom. The Japanese novelist
Eiji Yoshikawa writer, Great character is forged
through hardship.Only by polishing yourself
through repeated difficulties can you build a self
that sparkles as brightly as a gem. When you
have developed such a state of being, nothing
will faze you. You will be free. You will be
victorious. Hardship wills even be-come
enjoyable. Daring to take on tough challenges-
that in it is immense freedom. Freedom is
relative. You may run away from hard work andefforts, declaring your-self a free spirit, but you
cannot run away from yourself --- from your
own weaknesses, personality and destiny. It is
like trying to run from your own shadow. It is
even more impossible to escape from the
suffering of aging, sickness and death inherent
in the human condition. The more you try to
avoid hardship, the more doggedly they pursue
you, like so many relentless hounds chasing at
your heels. Thats why its important that you
turn and face your troubles head-on. It is
impossible to have absolutely everything go
your way all the time. In fact, if it werent for the
various obstacles life presents us with, we
probably wouldnt appreciate what is to be free.
The spring of our youth is meant to be lived with
our faces turned towards the sun. As a season of
growth, youth is a time of job great joy and
great suffering. It is filled with problems and
worries of all kind. But rather than run away from
them, the key is to keep seek-ing the sun, to
keep moving in the direction of the sunlight, tochallenges the pain and agony that are part of
growing up.
Never give in to defeat. For a seed to sprout, it
must exert tre-mendous effort to break of its
hard outer covering. That sprout must then
valiantly push its way up through a thick layer of
soil to reach the blue sky above. The hardships
you experience now will all contribute to your
growth. Therefore, the important thing is to keep
pressing forward no matter how tough or painful
the going may get.
Youth is the time to develop a spirit of
persistence. And those who keep striving for
improvement remain youthful no matter what
their age. Conversely, those who fail to do so,
even if they are young in year, will be old and
weak in spirit.
Life is a battle to win ultimate and unlimited
freedom.
HANDLING REJECTION
Q: Sometimes when I try to make new friends, its like Im not cool enough for them, and Im
left on the outside looking in.
A: Although it may seem difficult, if you are
ignored, rejected or made fun of, try not to be
overly worried about it. According to Buddhist
beliefs, those who treat others poorly make bad
causes for which they unfortunately will
experience the effects; they are truly to be pitied.
At the same time, remember that experiencingrejection and disappointment is an inevitable
part of life. I, too, have been betrayed by people
whom I trusted and sincerely tried to encourage.
But that is something I have learned is inevitable
at times.
In the face of rejection, you must learn to be
courageous. It is important to believe in yourself.
Be like the sun, which shines on serenely even
though not all the heavenly bodies reflect back
its light and even though some of its brilliance
seems to radiate only into empty space. While
those who reject your friendship may sometimes
fade out of your life, the more you shine your
light, the more brilliant your life will become.
No matter what other people do, it is important
that you walk your own path, believing in
yourself. If you stay true to yourself, others will

The Fire Inside
When all is lost and hope has fled,
When fear is strong and strength is dead,
When love and joy abandon you,
When mental anguish grows in you.
When the last of efforts fail to save,
When your fate is ill, your mind enslaved.
And when your head hangs low in misery,
This is when you will find the key.
Single amber from deep within,
Burns hotter and hotter, as flames begin.
The fire of truth will light the way,
And help you fight, this lonely day.
The battle is long, the struggle is rough,
Never regret not giving enough.
For when we offer our very best,
Our very soul is put to the test.
Stand tall & true and you will pre-vail,
Just hold on tight and never pre-vail.
You will survive if you dont quit,
Victory is there, if you reach for it.
One day in the future you will look to the past,
And you you had what it takes to last.
So never give up and good things will come,
Not just honor and pride, but s job well done.

The Thing with LOVE is....
It always maintains a safe distance from you. Always in the air. You wont value it until its gone If its really love it wont come back on its
own you got to make it happen.
Its mostly one-sided. Never comes to you when you in search of it
but always finds a way to your heart
Strikes you when you least expect it. Always a dilemma to know if its really
LOVES.
And if it really is then got more dilemmascoming your way.
Is the only thing dad's money cant buy. Is rarely unconditional nowadays? Makes u Delusional, Illogical and
Hallucinated.
Is the only thing a HUMAN HEART craves forthe most?
Has become a myth in this era. Is one the verge of EXTINCTION and needs

Making Happiness a Habit
Joy is not something thot happens accidentally
not dependent on outer conditions. It is rather a
habit or on emotion that you develop within
yourself and if you never take time to let it growbut rather put it off for some future day you
never reach the place of true happiness
Whatever you are doing be happy in it even
when u don't like the task, even when you would
be not bothered by an interruption, even when
you can think of many other situations or
conditions that would suit you much better than
the present one. The happiness of life is made
up of minute fractions; the little soon forgettablecharities of a kiss or a smile a kind look a
heartfelt compliment countless pleasurable and
genial feelings.
1,000 Distractions
They say a students life is most easy, but do
they know that how we have to dodge all those
tempting distractions,
Well whenever I am about to sit and open my
syllabus books, I am suddenly reminded of............
A chick flick which I always wanted to watch but
never managed to.
Suddenly the girl I never expected to call me,
calls up and we talk for hours.
Some other chick comes online.
The mag I always wanted to read but never
found time to.
My friends come up with an amazing plan to
meet up (Usually when someones parents have
gone out).
Need to call my friend and ask him how much
he has managed to mug up.
The ever distracting guest's show up and
demand attention and throw all the irritating
questions at you.
Or dad wants to learn computers (Worst than
studying.)
My phones reminder tells me that I have to
catch my favorite T.V show.
Or there's live or repeat telecast of an exciting
cricket match.
Or Sharapova or Sania is playing a single sided
tennis match. My "Ex" wants to go for a movie (And you can
never refuse to go for movies with your ex.)
Need to fetch Milk or something from the
grocery store.
I feel very sleepy like I haven't slept in ages
when I am just about to study.
The curiosity to check out what are the latest
torrents.
I have a sudden urge to do nothing and the
best part is you never finish doing nothing (This
is the law Einstein never mentioned).
After succumbing to all this I realize the day has
ended and I dint study even a single word, next
morning I promise myself that I will study but
the same story repeats and my amazing life
continues.
It's like the need to study and the tempting
things around you are directly proportional to
each other.

SAVE THE TIGER
Currently the countries of the world are on the
way of the development, development like
changing world into modern and more facilitateenvironment such as growing of construction
business. Before more years the earth is
bounded by greenery, but today that is one the
way to lost. Number of the forests is reduced on
the earth, so we are facing effect of global
warming that is the change of climate on the
world.
One look to the India, same situation is here.
India is also growing in the development. There
are number of the forests in the India can be
reduced, that affects the live life of animals, birds. Everyone of the world come together for
protect live life.
Yesterday when I was watching the television i
had seen one advertisement that is 'Save the
Tigers in India'. This message is for every Indians

Experience freedom
This world could use a little help right now. The
world needs to learn to blend its people a little
better, and what you will inevitably get is
acceptance.
Intolerance towards certain stereotypes,
religions, and ethnic societies will not exist
anymore, because it has been blended already,
and the entire world becomes one. If we can find
common ground, that would be a good start.
The lesson that needs to be learned is to leave
talk of religion off the table entirely when the
focus is for peaceful relations. Lets face facts,
everyone thinks that their religion is the correct
one, how could we possibly use it as a means ofpeace or as a starting point? We, as a society,
need to learn tolerance, and be color blind to
other nations ways, and learn how not to be
easily offended. Also
learn how not to offend.
When nations speak to
each other, they should
have common
boundaries, ones of
acceptance and dignity from one to another.
Nations that have ambassadors & diplomats inother countries that do not have a full
understanding of the culture should leave. No
people should lose their identity, or the beliefs
they hold dear.
Ignorance is commonplace with cultures and
people. This is why we must ensure from this day
forward not to make strange advances towards
another cultural belief structure, and hold those
that do, accountable. Not the country itself.
This peaceful world is still a possibility, should
the others wish to join is free for the taking. You
will however have to leave your arrogance,
stubbornness, intolerance, indifference at the
door before jumping in; otherwise your point
will be lost.
One thing is for sure in an ever shrinking world,
we need to find a common ground where we
can all meet. Learning to be a singular minded
society is an excellent place to start. For today
some countries need to forgive, but not forget,
and move on, so the hatred doesnt poison your
land. Learn to accept the fact that mistakes can
happen, even with the smartest of races
Jago India Jago
Nowadays, globally there is a wide dialogue
about the economic growth in India and the
development India is making. It is largely
discussed that India along with China is growing
to be the next Super Powers of the world thanks
to the development in trade and industrialsectors especially in IT sector. It is also said that
India has reached the level of fourth techno-
economic power in the world. And as per report,
FBI has projected India to be the top world
techno-economic power by 2030.
We as Indians are really proud for the growth of
our country. At last the hard work and the
commitments to the work by the people are
paid back with good and prosperous results. We
see many Indians / Indian companies coming
into the list of Fortune 500 companies of the
world. But when looked to this issue closely and with
open eyes, do we feel that India is on the race
for the top place world techno-economic power?
Within these 58 years (the post independence
period), there has been vast deteriorating
concerns that has shown alarming situation in
the country. It is noticed that Indian villages are
speedily bereaved from their natural roots. The
Indian towns are quickly fading their
conventional appeal, elegance and prosperity of
life. The slums are fast increasing in cities, alongwith lots of dirt and garbage. Roads are jammed
with traffic. There is a serious energy crisis. Our
national resources show severe deterioration.
The water and the atmosphere are getting highly
polluted. Along with these, the precipitous
increase in crime rates and fall in public values

are added up to this ruthless situation year after
year.
Moreover, it is also noticed that still there are
places where supply of water, electric, other
basic needs, etc has not even reached to the
people. Proper education or proper awareness
for education is not provided to the people. It is
a shame to say that there are still people who
are illiterate. Moreover, unemployment problem
is on rise. Proper employment / self employment
programmes are not conducted.
This post independence period have shown that
India is deeply trapped in a debt trap by taking
huge loan from the World Bank, etc for the
development. The results obtained from the
perspiration (hard work) of the people are
squeezed and squashed in order to pay back the
huge loan taken. Where has the money gone, nobody cares to it. I say this because this money
was taken for the development of the country,
but there are many places where electricity,
water, education are never provided.
It is clearly seen that the only the urban areas
were developed and the rural areas were totally
as if ignored.
The rich become richer, the poor become
poorer. The corruption in India have rose to its
peak. It has now become an important part of
life. Now, the situation is such that without
corruption being involved, even the smallest part
of work cannot be progressed.
Moreover, people fight each other in the name
of religion (influenced by political people or
religious community people). What to say about
the religions, it has now slowly beginning a
practice in each state where the state people
start differentiating people of other states. The
mentality of people has changed. No unity
among the people. India as a country where all
the states and union territories are considered as
one whole country, but now India is slowlydifferentiated into different states. The people in
India now like to be called like Maharastrian,
Gujaratis, Keralites, Punjabis, Tamilians,
Rajasthanis, etc. and now they are not interested
in calling themselves as INDIANS. Where is the
unity in India which the Honourable leaders like
Gandhiji, Bhagat Singhji and others who had
sacrificed their lives to create this modern united
free India.
Even the study shows that if this chaotic
condition is not properly ordered, it would affect
the human behaviour adversely and the mental
stress deepens.
And the world says that India is developing. And
the so-caalled Indian politicians bring out that
the India is shining.
How could this be? I do not understand.
Do you understand???
The point is to bring the country as a whole
united front. Work for the betterment in unity.
The government have to seriously bring
awareness of education the people, bring out
better and productive employment / self
employment programmes. Water, electric
supplies and other facilities to the backwardareas are to be provided in abundance. The
programmes for cleaner India is to be made
important. Proper utilisation of funds for
different projects should be maintained.
Corruption virus should be fought for
eradication. The process of making rich richer
and poor poorer should be removed and
programmes for prosperous of every people
involved should be made into practice.
Exploitation and corruption should be unearthed
and removed. Unity should be restored among
people. Equal opportunities is to be given to the
people irrespective of whether the person is
related to any politician / industrialist / high
society OR any one from the common people.
If these become a custom and a system, then we
can really say INDIA IS SHINING or INDIAN IS
FAST GROWING TO BE ONE OF THE TOPMOST
TECHNO-ECONOMIC POWER IN THE WORLD.
But till then it is just one of the developing
country trying desperately but also weakly trying
to be near the developed countries.

Youth Rocks..!!
YOUTH HAVE some responsibility towards their
country. We need to learn from yesterday and
live with hope for better tomorrow. We can learn
from our past how the young warriors shed theirblood for the country.
Hesitating to act because the whole vision
might not be achieved,
Or because others do not yet share it, is an
attitude that hinders progress.
It was with these words that Ashutosh Gowarikar
made Swadesh, Indias first mainstream
commercial film with its hearts in its place, when
it talks about serving the nation. Yes, we had
heard about shahrukh Khans realistic portrayal
of Mohan Bhargava, the project managerworking with NASA who come back to India,
only to face ground realities.
Shahrukhs was just a role, a performance But,
there are many inspiring performance and the
roles played by real life heroesIndians who
served the nation to make it what it is today.
It takes just a few minutes or seconds to expose
intelligent humans to the most inevitable and
powerful truth in life but it takes years to prove
the same.
And hey, we are alive and powerful. So lets look
around and listen to cry of mother India, which isunheard. Choose your role and act appropriately.
We all have some responsibility towards our
country, which we must understand and practice
Youth and nation have to walk hand in hand.
Most important, the youth should be honest and
hard working.
Youth should stand against all the wrong doing
in the country, Instead of blaming the system,
young India should come together and with
their toil should mould our nation for a better
tomorrow. We, the youth should use our brain, strength, creativity and imagination to serve our
nation. Instead of asking, whos going to fight
the corporation?, we should do it ourselves.
Rather than fighting upon the issues and
running the country, we should learn to develop
it.
I salute all those youths of the past who made
an efforts to make a difference.
We need to learn from yesterday and live with
hopes for a better tomorrow. So we have to do
our bit for the nation and be the change that we
have always wanted.

Mom..I Didnt Drink..!!!
I went to a party Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you are always right..
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone is driving out of sight..
As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece.Because of the way you raised me,
So responsible and sweet.
I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled out into the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And hit me like a load.
As I lay there on the pavement, Mom,
I hear the policeman say,
"The other guy is drunk," Mom,
And now I'm the one who will pay.
I'm lying here dying, Mom....
I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom?
My life just burst like a balloon.

The others didn't think.
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank
And I will die.
Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now.Pains just like a knife.
The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying
And all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom,
Put "GOOD BOY " on my grave.
Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you, you were always there.
I have one last question, Mom.Before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?

From the Principals Desk
Life comes to a full circle after entering the
portals of Versova Welfare Trust KMCC. It was
here that I had begun my career as a teen
primary teacher of this institution way back inthe sixties and moved on to achieve academic
hallmarks in my career spanning 41 years as an
educator. Nostalgia greeted me on the very first
day of office when Mr. Mazhar batch of 1968- 69
recognised me as his Flora teacher of Std. I. He
was there check the admission list of his
daughter, and in that connection visited my
office. Tears of joy filled him subsequently
bringing a huge bouquet to congratulate me.
Having being born and bred in Seven
Bunglows childhood memories of open spacesand grounds where I grew up filled my memory.
Word spread across and my old friends and
neighbors dropped in to greet me. The
institution has travelled a long way from a
humble tin shed and first floor structure. I
recollect in the days gone by there was no high
school in the area and the Trust fulfilled the
need. I was glad to know that KMCC was a
decade old and is vision of building responsible
citizens of the society was well under way.
The student body is a mix of all strata
of society wanting to climb the ladder of successthrough education. They are young enthusiastic
full of dreams to make it happen and the faculty
steers the ship of success.
The past few months have been very
hectic, meeting parents, recruiting faculty and
setting the tone of student centered
institution.
Much still remains to be achieved as
space crunch in terms of infrastructure is the
main obstacle to all future plans. Hoping that
the silver lining will be construction of morefloors to ease the suffocation.

On being A Teacher
Teachers are those who use themselves as
bridges, over which they invite students to cross;
then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully
collapse, encouraging them to create bridges oftheir own
-Nikos Kazantzakis
This saying stayed with throughout my student
years and many times I wondered what bridges
they could be. Bridges to connect teachers and
students or bridges about the future of the
students. The answer was finally found when I
decide to become a teacher myself, much to the
surprise and awe of my family and friends.
Growing up we all have a role models, mine wasEnglish teacher at school , Miss Gita Krishnan
and the love that she created for English
language stayed with me for a long time to
come. Maybe that teacher found an outgoing,
extrovert, spark and I was found compeering all
the schools Annual Day As a student of grade
10 circa to the year 2009.When I compared the
college annual day, I somewhere thought, my
dear Miss Krishnan would have been one happy
teacher to see her own student compeering or
having become a Business Communication
Professor herself.Just being on the stage filled me with warm
memories and I suddenly realized the bridge and
how I now encouraged my students to compeer
and when they did I finally.well joyfully
collapsed.
My mother who by virtue of being an English
teacher herself (No pun intended) may have also
silently planted the seed for the love of books
and English language and was quite surprised
herself when I decided to pursue my carrier as a
teacher. There I was with one MASTERS DEGREEand decided that if career in Teachingthen so
it is..!! I started working on my plan which
involved arming myself with technical degree
and it had to be none but the best and in the
best country.USA.
The city...Boston-MECCA of learning and
University town in the United States. My
preparation was extraordinary, just the GRE
exam and TOEFL and off I flew to the University
of MASSACHUSEITS, Boston Campus, to get a
MASTERS IN EDUCATION (MED). My student
years in Boston city were spent in the merry time
of learning as well as getting a Global Education
that we so often talk about. I loved my teachers
and had some great idea exchanges over coffee
and email and at Christmas dinners. Every
semester and every class, I just grew to love my
professors, who made my resolve to become a
professor even stronger. My professors were by
the way from all over the world, in race , color
and country and so were my classmates. Every
class we were just taught, -A Teacher is a
lifelong learner, and when we went out as
interns every semester in Boston City Schools, I
understood. I was to absorb everything like asponge and I did. All the children that I taught,
grade 3, grade 4. Time used to get rough when I
learned to teach students in special education
with learning disabilities and my days and years
to finish my masters degree, all passed too
quickly. When I walked up to receive my degree
on my graduation day, all my professors told me,
A teacher is a lifelong learner. Keep absorbing.
I returned home to India to understand that the
lifelong learning still made sense, a lot of sense. I
understood it all along and now when I put it
into practice; I understand it even deeper and
further.
The values and Ethos about teaching have
changed, the way students dress and address
teachers have changed. But one thing remains
ever so constant THE BRIDGE, where I was
invited by my own teacher to cross and where
now my students have crossed and will go a
long way to create bridges of their own.

New ways of teaching...
Teaching should be full of ideas instead of
stuffed with facts. .
After my graduation in Banking and finance I
was working with J.W.Marriot as a FinanceAssociate in taxation department for 1 year.
Thanks to this that I have a little knowledge
regarding the corporate sector. During my
student year I always thought of giving back the
knowledge to the society.
As Anna Garlin Spencer quotes The experience
of the race shows that we get our most
important education not through books but
through our work. We are developed by our
daily task, or else demoralized by it, as by
nothing else. I always wanted to share practicaland real kind of knowledge so that a student is
aware of what is going on in the world.
I decided to enter teaching profession to expose
the students with my knowledge. The aim of
education should be to teach how to think, than
what to think - rather to improve students
minds, so as to enable them to think for
yourselves, than to load the memory with
thoughts of other men. I started my profession
from MMK College as a visiting faculty for
around 3-4 months and then I landed up in
Kamala Mehta as a professor teachingmanagement students. This college is my
stepping stone towards my profession of
teaching. For the very first time I got an
opportunity to be among the teachers to correct
the university papers and also a great exposure
to the profession of teaching. This is the first
time m enjoying my profession with the
students.
All schools, all colleges, have two great
functions: to confer, and to conceal, valuable
knowledge. The theological knowledge whichthey conceal cannot justly be regarded as less
valuable than that which they reveal. That is,
when a man is buying a basket of strawberries it
can profit him to know that the bottom half of it
is rotten. I think friendly environment will attract
more students and will give more exposure to
them.
In the end I would like to say to all the students
Hard work is the key to success, so work
diligently on any project you undertake. If you
truly want to be successful, be prepared to give
up your leisure time and work past 5 PM and on
weekends. Also, have faith in yourself. If you
come up with a new idea that you believe in,
don't allow other people to discourage you from
pursuing it.

Short Story.
Mr. Aditya Suresh Joshi), age 19, studying in 1st
year of engineering, died in Keshvani Hospital,
Mumbai. He was admitted in Keshavani Hospital
as burned patient.4 days back this boy had goneto Amravati (One of the district place located in
State of Maharashtra ) on study tour. After their
study was over, he, his classmates & his
teachers, all of them were standing on "Badnera"
railway station to catch the train. "Badnera" is
the name of the railway station for " Amravati "
city.
As soon as they arrived on Badnera Railway
station, many of them started taking pictures of
their friends using "Mobile Phones" and/or
"Digital Camera". One of them complained that,
in his camera, he was not able to capture more
number of friends in one frame. He was not able
to catch the angle. Another boy suggested that
let's climb on train boogie and take picture so
that all of them can be accommodated in single
frame.
At that there was one goods wagon (all of them
were oil tankers) train resting between 2 main
railway lines.
Kumar Aditya climbed up oil boogie. Above his
head, 40,000 volts electrical line was passing
through. As soon as he clicked the digital
camera? 40,000 volt current passed through the
camera flash light to his camera and then from
his camera to his fingers and then from his
fingers to his body. All this happened within
fraction of minutes. Next moment he was thrown
from the top. His body was half burned on the
spot.
At that time, his father (my friend) was traveling
in Bangkok . His many friends in Pune came to
know about this via mobile SMS. They instantly
arranged air ambulance in Amravati and his
burned body was brought to Keshavani Hospital
, Mumbai. i was told that this is the best hospital
in Mumbai. For 1 and 1/2 day or so he was
talking to his relatives. When he was admitted to
the hospital, at that time only, doctor informed
his relatives that don't keep great hopes.
Because of lot of complex issues in half burned
body? He died yesterday morning.
* Now how many of us are aware about this
technological threats & dangers? Honestly,
Kumar Aditya and his father was not aware. His
family was not aware. Our entire friend circle of
more than 12,000, we were not aware. Now
should we call ourselves as fully educated and
fully knowledgeable people? Think of it. Please
avoid mobile phones on petrol outlets. Please
avoid talking on mobile phones while driving. i
also know many of my friends who do not
bother about this good suggestion and each
one of them have opted for "Chalta Hai Yaar
Attitude". Please avoid talking on mobilephones while they are in charging mode. Avoid
charging mobile phones near Your bed and/or
near wooden furniture. Avoid mobile phones
near high voltage electrical lines like railway
stations and use flash lights. My friend, his family
members and we all friends learned our lesson
with loss of young life. Now Would You like to
empower Your friends about this accident so as
to avoid future accidents? We can save human
life by empowering all the IT users who are in
Your network? i have done "My Karma {with
deep pains & tears in my eyes}" by empowering
You about this horrible experience.

A Footballer or an Athlete
The greatest sport has to be the one that
includes the best athletes, requires the most skill
in choosing plays, and rakes in the most
prominent television contract of all. The gamethat fulfills all these criteria is football. Football
draws from the largest base of athletes, which
means the best players come to the sport.
Football depends on substantial amounts of
speed, strength and intelligence. Every football
play that is initiated requires exact positioning
and precision from every player on the field,
which means there is little room for error.
One of the finest and most promising footballer
in our college is Mr.Sherwyn Sutarde fromT.Y.BCOM(B) who is trained under Mr.Emanuel
whos from Nigeria after his Primary school. A
simple guy like all of us was inspired by his dad
who was a footballer. Hes also been called as an
best athlete.
Mr.Sherwyn from his childhood been playing
many matches and has been a defender in the
team. It goes with the saying that Defense in
the foundation of any good football team.
The basic goal of every defense is to stop
opposing offenses from advancing down the
field,. Football coaches are fond of saying thatoffense wins games, but defense wins titles. The
reason for this is simple; if the opponent never
scores, a team can never lose.
Earlier he use to play local matches with his local
team and was winning continuously for the years
in juhu. His team has been a runner up on the
Maharashtra state level too.
With his skills of playing the game of football he
was selected in MUMBAI UNITED team which
plays for Mumbai. He is a big fan of Arsenal
Club.
He is giving coaching to the students of
St.joseph high schoolHe is been selected for
International coaching to goa where he is one of
the 22 people who are being selected from
Mumbai for this coaching.Various age group
people are going to be present from various
states of India.

For him football is not his profession its his love
and dedication towards this game which always
makes him play. More than a footballer he like
to be an athlete as for him in athletics everything
depends on you, how you perform the best is
what matters whereas in football its a team
work. In football even if you are giving your best
the team also needs to give their best. Athelete
is one mans job and determination.
Mr.sherwyn wants the college to give proper
training to the footballers and should have a
good coach because a coach is a coach,no onecan beat the coach.
The sportsman knows that a sport is a
recreation, a game, an amusement and a
pastime, but his eyes are fixed on a higher goal,
on the most important thing in his life, which is
his education or his vocation.
A Gentlemans Game: Cricket
Cricket is a most precarious profession;
it is called a team game but, in fact, no
one is so lonely as a batsman facing a
bowler supported by ten fieldsmen andobserved by two umpires to ensure that
his error does not go unpunished.
John Arlott
Mr. Malik Gillani from T.Y.BMS says The
game that I always played as a little boy
again became my prime sport
contribution towards my institution, no
guesses the game was
Cricket, Cricket basically is more than a
game to everyone in Indiaand is special to everyone in their own
sweet ways similarly it is to
me.
As BMS and BBI sections were small he
was mostly the
Skipper (captain) of the college team, heis basically Fast Bowler and
a Middle order batsman when he used
to play for the North Bombay team. For
him playing for the college was one of
his dreams which came true even
though at an intercollegiate level. He
was achieving quite allot because the

Game has no bounds and no levels. He
says Whenever we have played a game
against our prime focus has been
respecting the opponent and building
a competitive spirit, and leave winning
or losing to your play and
destiny
He quotes K.S. Rangitsinhji A run is
more difficult to make than no save,
because batting is in its nature a far less
certain and reliable thing than bowling
and fielding.
So to sum up he says Cricket has been
very special and probably would be
Because the spirit of the Game is
amazing and the love for it is true
