India has imported organic chemicals of 90 billion rupees during the month of April 2013. Out of 91 billion rupees 78 billionrupees worth of goods are imported at 15 sea ports of India. While 8 billion rupees organic chemicals were imported through 10different airports. 4 billion rupees goods were cleared through 23 internal container depots.India has imported organic chemicals from 65 countries across the globe. China is the biggest supplier with 26.11% marketshare. In India. 71 % of goods are imported in the state of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Looking at region wise breakup Asia andAsian countries supplies 78% goods to India.Within top 10 4 digit HS codes 70% of overall imports happens. 42 % of organic chemicals are imported in the top ten 8 digit HSCODES. 3 billion rupees Diloxanide furoate, Cimetidine, Oxyclozanide, Famotidine: Other are imported by air. Styrene importsstands at 8 billion.Half of organic chemicals are imported in India from North East Asian Countries. Top 10 supplying countries enjoy 81% of IndianImport market of organic chemicals.India has imported 57 thousand MTS worth RS. 4158 Million /- toluene during Apr 2013. Korea and Singapore are majorsuppliers of toluene to India. Average price of import is RS. 72454/- . Israle was the cheapest supplier while Saudi Arabia origintoluene was costliest. Compared to previous month there was decline of 11.79% decrease in the value of Toluene importedwhich resulted in just 6.62% of total quantity imported. The reason being the decrease in the rate of Toluene by 2300 per MTS.
