Chapter 1: Machine Description
The IMCK-SP150 Automatic Packaging Machine is an all stainless steel
packing machine, researched and developed by IMC for the international
market. It has the functionality of being able to fill, form and seal packets
into the stick pack format. The well designed and ergonomically
appearance makes this machine ideal for your needs. Various kinds of dry
granular food stuffs can be packed. When equipped with various types of
filling heads it can also package wet and dry powder products. The
machine can produce a centre seal pillow bag type shape of various sizes
as it is equipped with a forming head. Many types of composite materials
can be accommodated.

Chapter 2: IMCK-SP150 controller user’s manual
IMCK-SP150 Packer Controller is a multi-function digital controller
designed for the automatic packing machines. It can be installed on
most of the automatic packing machines in the market. IMCK-SP150
use liquid crystal display technology.
IMCK-SP150 has tracking function. The length scope is from 1 to
999mm. The counting scope is from 0 to 99999. ATM-188 has the
keyboard and operation key function.
2.1 Keyboard and operation key
ATM-188 has a liquid crystal screen and operation keys.
The size of installation is 144 by 118 mm².
The size of outer shape is 150 by 124 mm².

Set page photo. Photo is for track, mark and automatic following.
Track means manual positioning of the bag length
Mark means the photocell is in a fixed position of the bag lengh by
the registration mark on the film. Dark is for dark
label. Light is for light color label.
Automatic following means automaticly detect the label dark or
light.
Note: If the machine is set to follow an eye mark registration
and while running the machine does not detect an eye mark for
three consecutive bags. The machine will stop and sound an
alarm. The machine will need to be shut off and switched on
again and the eye mark position found or sensitivity re set.

Code is the password for the electronic program for the machine
operation. Please do not freely change this code.
2.3 Machine operation
After the startup screen has been displayed the screen will switch to the
running display page.

2.4 Caution
Avoid touching the liquid crystal screen by something sharp or the liquid
crystal will be damaged permanently. When the system powers off, wait
for 10 minutes before you turn on the power for the main motor, or else
the system will work abnormally.
Chapter 3: Operational Steps for the Machine
Oil the following parts before operation: lateral seal driving copper axle
and its bearing bar oil the whole, longitudinal seal bearing bar oil hole
and all relative running surfaces.

Switch on the machine, the power light turns on. Then turn on the lateral
and longitudinal seal heater.
Adjust lateral and longitudinal seal thermal control unit, set the
temperature needed.
Load packing materials according to the attached diagrammatic sketch of
web-guider.

Load packing materials along the guide slot to the longitudinal seal paper
traveling wheels. Turn on trip gear, move apart the paper traveling
wheels. Then load packing materials between the paper traveling
wheels, flush ends. Turn off the engage device; let the two paper
traveling wheels press the packing materials.

Adjust bag length. Press “bag length” button, parameters of bag length
will flash. Press “▲”or “▼” for adding or lessening numbers. After
you confirm the first number flashes, adjust it. Then adjust the third
number in the same way. If the bag is 80mm long, the parameter is
“080”; if bag length is 125mm, the parameter is “125”.

Track is manual positioning the bag length.
Mark is by photocell to fixed position of bag length by label block. Dark
is for dark label. Light is for light color label.

Stopping the machine: Stop raw material feed - turn off main motor
switch - switch off main circuit breaker - check and clean machine
Chapter 4: Rules for repairs and maintenance
When operating, pay attention to the sound of machine, whether it
is rough or abnormal, quickly discriminate the unusual running
sound before an accident.
Oil the machine before operating.
Often clean crossbar seal with copper brush to keep it clean.
Check the heating part of crossbar seal before operating. Change it
immediately if broken.
Check the fastening parts regularly. Fasten or connect if loose or
unconnected.
Later, change the oil every 2000 hours. Add oil to the center of
oil leveler sight glass in gearbox.
Check all the parts of machine regularly. If broken, change or fix
the part immediately.

Chapter 5: Machine adjustment to prevent problems
A) Part of the machine doesn’t work
1) Main circuit breaker or connecting wire is cut off: connect the wire.
If main circuit breaker doesn’t work, change it.
2) Main motor is loose and not running, check electrical connections
and power for correct function -- Electrician should perform this task
3) Fuse wire burned off. Change with another fuse of the same
ampere.
4) Connecting screw and bonding of toothed wheel or latch has
become loose. Refasten the loose screw and bonding. Start
checking from the main circuit breaker, according to running order.
5) Something unknown falls into the toothed wheels and other parts.
If so, motor will give out some unusual sound. If you do not deal
with it immediately, motor will easily burn down. Take out the
unknown matter.
6) Too great pressure on lateral and longitudinal seal parts; span
adjustment is too small. Readjust span and pressure.

B) Failure in Cut-off knife cannot cut off the membrane
1) Unsuitable lateral seal part pressure or span. Resolution: readjust
pressure and span
2) Edge of Cut-off Knife Broken. If small, grind with oilstone; if
big, repair with grinding machine.
3) Failure in Membrane Guide Slot. The membrane cannot seize or
disengage the longitudinal seal part or the two ends are not unlevel.
4) Membrane loading, membrane guide slot and centers of
longitudinal seal and lateral seal are not in the same straight line.
Adjust it and guide slot to the same line.
5) Guide slot inclines too much. Adjust guide slot.
C) Failure in Electricity
1) Too strong hot seal current or fuse wire burned off. The
short-circuit in electric heater or hot seal circuit
2) Hot seal block is not hot
A) The heating wire burns off
B) The hot seal fuse wire has fused
C) Failure in thermal control unit.

D) If the green and red lights on the temperature controllers don't
change intermittently during regulation
Then the temperature could be set too high or the elements could be
open circuit
The temperature circuit consists of the following control items.
1: Fuse
2: Temperature sensor
3: Temperature controller
4: Heating elements
Note: Either one of these items that do not function correctly can
cause temperature control issues, refer to electrical diagram too fault
find.
The elements are 115v AC and are connected in series. Failure to connect
in series will result in excessive voltage being applied to the elements and
failure will result

E) Paper feeding motor doesn’t work
1) The position switches do not work. Replace with another
2) The capacitor has burnt out. Replace with another
3) The motor burns out. Replace with another.
4) The paper feeding fuse has burn off. Replace with another one of
the same ampere.
F) Counter for packing bags doesn’t work
1) The position switches is not working. Replace or adjust the
latch’s span.
2) Counter is broken you need to replace it.
G) Photo electricity tracking doesn’t work
The photo sensor for eye mark tracking is very sensitive and requires
that the paper be an even and consistent distance from the light
source. A metal holder guide plate has been supplied so that the paper
remains constant in the metal plate.
Please line up the eye mark so that the eye source is in the centre of
the registration mark. See picture attached.

1) The switches close or it broken or may be too far from signal
screw.
2) The stepper motor is broken out of work. Replace it.
3) The stepper motor driver is not working. Check and replace with
new.
4) The computer controller is not work. Check and replace with
new.
5) The registration eye is too sensitive or not sensitive enough,
adjustment should be made on the unit, see photo.

Chapter 6: Matters that need your attention
6.1 Be careful to the machine sounds, and distinguish the abnormal
running sound.
6.2 Clear adhesive remaining on vertical and horizontal rollers. The
adhesive on roller diminished the traction drawing film.
6.3 Check if the each joint and screw loose.
Chapter 7: Setting your packing grams
To adjust the weight of your product you are packing in the cups
you need to move the wheel adjustment part.

Chapter 8: Information regarding the IMCK – SP150
IMCK-SP150 is a type of stick pack automatic packing machine, which is
designed for packing irregular things such as medicine material crude
slices and irregular spare parts. This machine is controlled by
micro-computer, which makes the working more reliable and the
operation simple.
1. Function: Bag forming, bag measurement, bag sealing, bag cutting,
bag counting, product volume setting, these functions are automatic.
2. Application range: materials such as bulking food, medicine
material crude slices, irregular spare parts, etc.
3. Packing material: All kinds of compound material which can be hot
sealed. Form of sealing: back-sealing
4. Packing speed: Dependant on product, estimated speed, 20-80 bags
per minute
5. Pack-making size: Width 50-180mm Length 50-250mm
6. Power: 220V General efficiency: 2kw

Chapter 10: How to operate the machine
Check if the cutter and feeding clutch is disengaged. Please switch on
machine, indicator of power is light. The vertical and horizontal sealing
bars are heating up.
Change the temperatures of vertical and horizontal controllers for various
films. Usually it is between 100℃ and 250℃. Load the packing film and
draw the film to the vertical rollers and aligned to them. On length track
by hand input, the tolerance error of real bag is 1mm length compared
with length between 2 labels on film. Also can select mark model by
photocell detect the 2 labels to decide bag length.

Chapter 11: How to stop the machine
Press motor stop, turn off power switch and disengage filling system
Chapter 12: Notes
Please pay attention to any abnormal sounds when the machine is
running, if there are any, immediately stop the machine and rectify
the problem
After putting the material to the machine, if the machine cannot
start for a long time or stop, please run the machine to the sealing
position which the longitudinal sealing part and transverse sealing
part are separate.

Note: Please make sure that the jaws for horizontal and vertical
sealing are not too tightly set and are in line, if not please re-adjust.
The knife must enter the slot on the horizontal jaws for cutting to be
effective; if the knife does not enter the slot provided for the knife
will break.
Please clean longitudinal and transverse sealing part surface with
copper brush often, if there are PE or dust on the surface, it will
influence the sealing.
Please cut off the power switch when you are checking and
cleaning the machine.
Between the longitudinal sealing and transverse sealing, do not use
hands or let other parts touch them when machine is running.
Check each the fastening parts timing, checking if the connection is
loose in order to eliminate any problem over time.
According to the requirement add refuel on time.

Chapter 13: Troubleshooting
13.1. What to do it if the difference in temperature is large showing
by the temperature controller?
Answer:
Press the <AT> key on the temperature controller more than 10
seconds till the <AT> indicator light on. The temperature controller
will correct by it, the normal difference in temperature is within 2ºC.
13.2. What to do it if the speed of making bags is sometimes higher
and sometimes lower?
Answer:
A) The reason is the length we set is far different as the actual
distance between the two marks. We should make the tolerance within
±1mm.

B) The sensitivity we set on the photoelectric probe is too high, so the
mistake can happen. The best way to sent the sensitivity is :Setting
lower sensitivity, turn the knob left till the indicator light on ,then
setting the higher sensitivity slowly by turning the knob to the right,
stop it immediately as soon as the indicator light glints. This will be
the best sensitivity.
C) While making the bags, photoelectric probe meets other colors on
the film.
Note: Please make sure that the eye mark has a clear and
uninterrupted path that does not interfere with the eye mark.
D) When the horizontal sealing rollers are parallel, the eccentric
wheel of the length is not at a 45º angle.

13.3. What to do it if the sides of the bags made by the running
machine are not symmetrical?
Answer:
A) Adjust the bag former, make the midline of the bag former and the
midline of the film, horizontal sealing roller and vertical sealing roller
on one line.
Measure:
Loose the four snails on the bag former, hold the bag former by one
hand, another hand knocks the bag former lightly to make the bag
former move to the unsymmetrical side.
B) Adjust the stand of the bag former fore-and-after; make it vertical
with the electricity box.
Measure:
Loose the up and down snails, move the stand to the side face which
the paper comes out from.

C) Inspect whether the two sides of the film are symmetrical when the
film is running out of the bottom of the bag former.
Measure:
If you find that the film coming out on the one side is less than
another side at the bottom of the bag former, you can move the lesser
side by using screwdriver lightly.
D) Inspect whether the hoop on the bottom of the bag former is too
loose?
Measure:
(1) Insert one empty bag into the space between the hoop and the
packing material; make the packing material cling to the bag former.

(2.) Make one end of the hoop open; insert the film, set a good
clearance, at last close the hoop again.
13.4. What to do if you always have material in the sealing area of the
bag while the machine is running?
Answer:
Set the time of the feeding material: It will be OK if there is no
material when the cross roller works.
13.5. What to do it if the bags are always declining, not rectangular?
Answer:
Setting the stand of the bag former you make it with the vertical with
the horizontal sealing roller.
Measure:
Loosen the two snails on the stand and move it forwards or
backwards.

13.6. The cutter of the machine closes but cannot cut off the film,
what’s wrong with it?
Answer:
The main principle of the cutter is to cut through the film, make sure
the blade cutter moves through the film completely, +- 10mm
Measure:
A) Increase the temperature of the horizontal sealing roller properly.
B) While adjusting the pressure, please notice the balance of the
pressure.
C) If the bag is pillow shape, we can adjust the vertical sealing area to
5mm, to make sure the high quality sealing; of the horizontal sealing
area and vertical sealing area.

13.7. What kind of packing film should be used? How to confirm the
bag size?
Answer:
Because IMC packing machine adopts continuous sealing measure,
the packing material is running under high temperature and high
pressure. The melting point of outside layer and inside layer of the
film should be different the more different the better. It is the best if
the outside layer doesn’t distort when the inside layer seals strong. If
the difference of the two melting point are small, the inside layer
cannot be sealed under low temperature or the outside layer will be
melted under high temperature. Typical type of material to be used
will consist of PET/PE Laminate
Suggestion 1:
According to the different packing material, the different temperature
resistance, Oxygen permeability of per square meter in 20 hours is
different. We suggest you choose PET as the outside layer.

Suggestion 2:
Due to the fact that the raw material has to fall to the packet, this
takes time and some aeration occurs. There should be sufficient head
space in the packet to accumulate for this, +- 1/3 of the space should
be head space and 2/3 will be for product.
Note: There should never be any raw material in between the seal
area or a bad seal will result and product leakage
13.8. What to do it if the finished bag releases air?
Answer:
A) Inspect the film whether the layers have separated?
Measure:
Put the film in hand, twine it again and again, inspect if the layers
have separated.
B) Inspect if there are burrs on the sealing roller.
Measure:
Burnish the two sides of the sealing roller by sand paper.

13.9. What to do if when the cups overfull from the desired weight?
A) Inspect if the scraper is scraping the tops of the cups if you feel
that the scraper needs to be adjusted loosen the red screw and adjust
the level downwards
13.10. What to do if you have difficulty in disengaging the filling
system?
A) When you move the lever an open and close position the
connecting part must move, you should make an adjustment with the
screw by turning it inwards and outwards to receive your desired
action. The screw must not be too tight or to lose.
