Q&A Are customers required to add a bank account during online enrollment (revised 11/30/10)?
No, bank accounts are not required. Customers may elect to add or remove bank accounts at any time while their account status is active.
How do customers choose “Family” as a Qualified Health Plan Coverage during online enrollment?
The default for the “Qualified Health Plan Coverage” on the Eligibility Page is “Individual”. If a customer wants to choose “family” they will need to add dependents on the “Dependents Page” during online enrollment.
Can a consumer save a partially completed application and come back to it complete it at a later hour/date?
No. There is no auto save function. The consumer must complete the enrollment process during one sitting. The average time to complete the online enrollment process is 10‐15 minutes depending on whether dependents, beneficiaries, and bank accounts are added.
Is there anything the consumer should have available to assist in completing the online enrollment process.
Yes. It will speed up the process if the consumer is prepared before enrolling online. • If adding dependents – social security numbers and birthdates • If adding beneficiaries – names, addresses, social security numbers and birthdates • If linking a personal bank account – routing number and account number
What does it mean if the Participant receives an IDV notification message on the “Profile” page?
When the “next” icon is clicked on the “profile” page, it automatically puts the enrollee through the IDV (Identification Verification) process. If the Participant receives the IDV notification message, it means that information did not match the IDV database. Receiving the message, gives the enrollee an opportunity to review whether any input errors were made. They don’t have to make changes to proceed to the next screen, however:
• If information is not corrected and/or revised, they will be informed to contact HCB Consumer services to provide the documentation required to pass IDV. The contact information for HCB Consumer Services will be provided on the final confirmation page.
• If information is corrected, they will find out on the final confirmation page whether the changes made were sufficient to pass the IDV process. If not, they will be required to provide IDV documentation.
Either way, HSA Customer Support is not to collect IDV documentation from the enrollee. They should be directed to make arrangements to provide IDV documents directly with HCB Consumer Services
What if a participant advises they added a dependent or beneficiary, but they do not see them listed on the “Summary” page?
• To add a dependent, the participant needs to complete the information on the screen and click the “Add Dependent” icon, before clicking the “Next” icon.
• To add a beneficiary, the participant can click on names shown on the right of the screen (if dependents were added). This will populate all the fields. They must then click the “Add Beneficiary” icon, before clicking the Next” icon.
