Call for Abstracts
The scientific papers related to the themes and
subthemes of the conference are invited. There will be
two categories of paper presentation (oral
presentation & poster presentation)
Criteria for Abstracts
An unpublished original work should be
submitted.
Abstract should be in IMRaD format and
should not exceed 250 to 300 words.
Abstract should be e-mailed to
Abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific
committee. Acceptance & category (paper/
poster) will be communicated by email.
The last date for receiving the abstract is 15th
September, 2015.
Good Research papers will be accepted even
if they may not fit into the theme. The
Scientific Committee reserves the right to
accept/reject the abstract on the basis of
recommendations by the reviewers.
Registration is compulsory for paper or poster
presentation.
The maximum time limit for each
presentation is 10 mins.
The size of the poster should be 42’’ X 56’’
No T.A or D.A will be paid for paper/poster
presentation.

OVERVIEW:
Destined to be the “Pride” of North Eastern
Region, North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of
Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) as
the “Island of Excellence” bears the mission of an apex
coordination centre to guide the health care policy of the
Central Government, to potentially coordinate with
international health organizations like WHO, UNICEF,
World Bank etc in the activities of health sector with
a Vision of developing an apex seat of learning cum health
care and capacity building as also to develop a self-
sustainable resource centre of Health and Medical
Sciences through the trinity of training, services and
research.
NEIGRIHMS offers Undergraduate Programmes
and Postgraduate Programmes. The B. Sc Nursing
course was started by the Institute in 2006. The College of
Nursing, NEIGRIHMS is organizing the National
Conference on the theme “Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s
Leaders-Transforming Nursing Education”

or representative. The fee also can be paid as
“consolidated” in case of many delegates.
Sight Seeing: Cherrapunjee sightseeing will be on
sharing basis. The amount may vary from 500 to 750.
The amount can be paid at conference venue.

Mesmerizing Meghalaya
Literally known as 'the abode of clouds',
Meghalaya is a hilly state landlocked between Assam
and Bangladesh, abounding breathtaking scenic beauty
coupled with a bracing climate. It has been blessed with
virgin forests, high plateaus, tumbling waterfalls,
crystal clear rivers, meandering streamlets and above
all with sturdy, intelligent and hospitable people.
Places of Tourist Interest
Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is situated
at an altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level,
with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet
(1,966 m).
Sohra, also known as Cherrapunjee, located
56 kms from Shillong. One of those ultimate eco-
friendly destinations, a place renowned all over the
world for having the privilege of receiving the highest
rainfall in the world and is set upon a plateau on the
southern slopes of the state. Sohra is dotted with
waterfalls cascading over deep gorges. The swift
flowing rivers and streams flow in a southernly
direction to the plains. October to November &
February to April is the best season to explore
Meghalaya..
