He was born in Irvine,Kentucky, on October 6,1940toDonaldAdkinsandStanleySue(McIntosh)Ad-kins. Both parents precedehimindeath.Jimserved intheUnitedStatesArmy. He married Esther M.(Hurst) Adkins on October6, 1962 in First Church ofGodinHartfordCity. Jim retired in1998 fromGMinMarionafter30yearsofservice.HewasamemberofUAWLocal966inMar-ionandwasanavid fisher-man. Mrs.JoneswasbornDe-cember 12, 1948 in Win-chester,KentuckytothelateBillWatkins,aWorldWarIIveteran,andthelateGenevaBishop Watkins, a home-maker.ShegrewupinEstillCountyandtookgreatprideinthiscounty. Alma was blessed andsurrounded with a largegroupoflovingfamilyandfriends. She married herbest friend, Chester RayJones,onJuly31,1971andhadaveryblessedmarriageof 44 years, and togethertheywereblessedwithonedaughter. Alma was therock of the family and to-gether theysharedastrongfaith inGod, loved tohelpothers,lovedtocamp,fish,and hunt. She was alwayswantingtocutupandhaveagoodtime.Mrs.Joneswasa retiredcosmetologist andajunkdealer. ShebelongedtotheSouthIrvineChristianChurchandlovedherchurchverymuch.She found true comfort inGodandhispromises, andhe carried his promise outandhasgivenheranenter-nallifewithhim.
