Thursday was the opening day ofthe Christian County Horse Show

at Pembroke The day was idealthough gathering clouds early in themorning caused a feeling of uneasiness as to what the weather mightbe before the day passed But noth-

ing interfered to make the openingday one of the best in the historyof the show

Early in the morning everythingwas bustle and hurry in the progressive little city and the officers lookedcheerful and expectant

The entries were larger in num-

ber than had been expected Thehorses to be shown were all in finecondition and the grounds in perfect

orderThefirst day was one of great in-

terest and the competition in thedifferent classes was so close thatsome of the decisions were hard toarrive at At night the groundswere made a bright as day by innumerable electric lights the airwas cool and bracing and in everyway the evening was most enjoyableto the large throng that wendedtheir way to the enclosure wherethe show is being held

Friday was Hopkinsville Dayand the largest crowd of the threedays was expected Though therewas a large representation ThursdayFriday was the one chosen by outpeople to attepd and they werethere en masse The road fronhere to Pembroke was fullotvehides from before sunrise to 10oclock When the accomodatioitrain pulled out at 705 it was loaded down with people who wereanxious for a days outing Pembroke was prepared to receive allofthem and extended every courtesto make the day an e joyabltone to all and indeed it wasPembroke starts out to accomplishsomething she always succeeds
