Scheduling Process
November 13th- High School Registration Forms due to Mrs. Casellini
The week of November 18th-Language Arts Common Placement Test
The week of December 2-6-Mrs. Casellini will be going into 8th grade classes to go over the scheduling process with students. Parents will be receiving this information at the parent information session on November 25th.
December 17th-NHHS World Language Teachers visit UTMS
December (Date TBA)-Math Placement Test
December 20th (Right Before Winter Break)-Students receive their course level placement from teachers for Math, Science, English, and History. Should you have any questions about your child’s placement recommendation, please discuss this with that subject area teacher as soon as possible.
Scheduling ProcessOver Winter Break-Students should select their electives and their world language choice from the online course guide and write them down on their planning sheet (will receive before break). Students should select 4 electives, 3 alternate (or back-up) electives, and 1 world language choice.
January 7-Student field trip to North Hunterdon High School for orientation.**NHHS also has a parent orientation presentation in the evening at 6:30PM
January 8-10-Students will meet with Mrs. Casellini by appointment to put their course requests into Aspen (online program). Students will bring home a print out of their courses for parent signature. This is due back to Mrs. Casellini with parent signature by January 17th.
Special Education Transition Meetings will take place beginning in January. You will be contacted by our CST office to set this up.
Additional Timelines
February 3-14th-NHHS Counselors available for parent appointments to
discuss schedules and/or any questions or concerns about the transition to
high school.

• They do not start taking appointments until after winter break.
March, 2020: Email will be sent to families about creating Aspen accounts for cheering tryouts: Other parents should not fill out athletic forms at this point because everything will be lost in the July roll-over.
July 2020: Parents should complete all fall sports forms through Aspen.

Advanced Placement (AP)• AP Science is no longer offered to
incoming Freshman• AP science classes will require students to complete the first level of the course prior
to taking the AP course.
• The new typical AP science sequence could look like this:

Early American History
• This United States history course
focuses on the growth of the nation
from colonization and settlement to the
emergence of modern America. The
role of the United States in the world is
considered through the lenses of
historical, political, economic,
socio/cultural, and geographical
developments. The creation and
evolution of the American system of
government and the rights and
responsibilities of citizenship are
emphasized. This course satisfies the
first half of the New Jersey state
requirement for US History.

laboratory experiences the student will discover new concepts and interests in the biological sciences.

will meet for 24 minutes over the lunch period when their science class is just prior to or just after the lunch period.
• If students have a morning science class, they will have the science lab during the first lunch period and they will eat each day in the second lunch period.
• If students have an afternoon science class, they will have the science lab during the second lunch period and they will eat each day in the first lunch period.
