4-1
9326 d2U V2 introduction
The 9326 d2U V2 is the enhanced 9326 d2U rack supporting xModules (xCEM-U,
xCCM-U). It is designed to be connected to one of the following products via optical
fiber links:
• RRH60-21
• RRH40-AWS
• RRH40-21
• RRH40-08
• RRH40-19
• RRH20-21
• 9332 rCompact
The iModules (iCEM-U, iCCM-U) can be plugged in this 9326 d2U V2 rack, using
specific adapter boards and front panels.
xCEM-U and iCEM-U modules can be mixed inside the 9326 d2U V2 rack. The 9326
d2U V2 rack is factory-equipped with one xCCM-U or one iCCM-U (in slot 1), one
xCEM-U (in slot 2) and two fillers. Depending on the capacity requirements, the 9326
d2U V2 rack can host two xCEMs-U, two iCEMs-U, or one xCEM-U and one iCEM-U
in place of the two fillers (slot 3 and slot 4).
The Alcatel-Lucent Remote Radio solution improves flexibility for deploying mobile
broadband Node Bs in space-constrained locations. It is particularly suited to
macro-cellular applications in dense areas, where site acquisition is difficult, and on sites
where installation constraints prevent the use of legacy Node Bs.
Compared to legacy Node B site deployment, the Remote Radio solution provides the
following benefits:
• Reduced volume, weight, footprint, acoustic noise, and power consumption
• Reduced cost of feeder paths from the Node B to the antenna
• Increased RF power per carrier at the antenna feeder
• Reduced radio loss with use of the remote RF block concept, which eliminates the
distance between the radio amplifier and the antenna
The Remote Radio solution provides for the UMTS system:
• The means of communication between a User Equipment (UE) and a network using
Transport Channels
• Physical layer channels, which are necessary to synchronize the downlink and
perform cell selection/reselection and handover preparation
• Measurement information to the RNC for radio resource management (handover,
power control)
The 9326 d2U V2 provides up to eight E1/T1 with Inversion Multiplexing ATM (IMA) or
Drop-and-Insert capability (fractional E1/T1). The 9326 d2U V2 also supports
multi-PCM without IMA.

installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, it can interfere with
radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interferences do not occur
in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio
or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on.
The user is encouraged to correct any interference problems.
EMC requirements have been selected to ensure an adequate level of compatibility for
apparatus in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments. Compatibility
levels, however, do not cover extreme cases that can occur in any location, but that
have a low probability of occurrence. In particular, they may not cover cases where a
source of interference that is producing repeated transient or continuous phenomena is
permanently present. This could include, for example, a radar or broadcast site in the
near vicinity. In these cases, it may be necessary to limit the source of interference,
and/or apply special protection to the interfered part.
Note: For operation or maintenance inside Alcatel-Lucent systems, the operator must
always wear the antistatic wrist strap to maintain the integrity of the product.
• Effective use of the Radio spectrum allocated to terrestrial/space radio communication
and orbital resources to avoid interference. The routes and standards used to
demonstrate compliance with these requirements are outlined in the following
paragraphs.
– Node B EMC
Compliance with essential EMC requirements was demonstrated using ETSI EN
300 386.
– Node B safety
Compliance with essential safety requirements was demonstrated using EN
60950-1 as well as IEC 60950-1.
