Budgeting Principles

• We are not an elected body– Leave as many financial decisions as possible

to the incoming elected council

• Starting with minimal reserves– Need to start building some reserves

• Exploring options for community investment

• Try not to raise precept

• Azalea Gardens– ~10k each equipment

• Peter Driver– Facilities require investment

• Community garden• Cycle track

– Discussions with MoD

• Grit bins– Multiple potential sites identified

• Other ideas exist– Seeking community ideas

• The creation of Parish Council means that council tax intended for local use can be spent on local initiatives

• Local circumstances mean that there should be more money available to invest in Church Crookham

• There is a real opportunity for residents of Church Crookham to ensure this investment is wisely spent
