Have Your Say Each year, the school conducts an opinion survey amongst a sample of the school community.
Last year we had 36 out of the 44 surveys returned (81.823%) and it would be great if we could improve on that
response rate this year.
I ask you to please take the time to complete the survey as your opinions are important to us and will contribute to
the future management and organisation of our school.
The survey is conducted online by ORIMA Research and should take around 15 minutes to complete.
The survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Sunday 27 August 2017.
The survey can be completed using any device connected to the internet (even a mobile phone).
Should you require access to a device to complete the survey, please let the school office know.
Please be assured that your responses are completely confidential. The survey is conducted anonymously and it is
important to us that you complete the survey as honestly as possible. Your comments in the final open-ended
question will be provided back to the school.
Further details on how to complete the survey
will be in next week’s newsletter.
Parents’ Club Meeting I would like to remind everyone that the next

student uniform for the year. Please come along

building is also taking shape.

The SRC is asking if there is anyone willing to volunteer their time over the two days to help in the following ways. supervise sell soup or collect money This would be greatly appreciated. Even if it just for an hour of your time. We are hoping to cook chicken and corn soup, vegetable soup and pumpkin soup this week. Promoting good Mental Health and wellbeing in kids…. This term the weekly wellbeing tip will include 10 tips to promote good mental health and wellbeing in kids... According to the Australian Psychological Society, one in seven children experience some type of mental health issue, with ADHD, anxiety and depression being the most common. Having good mental health doesn’t mean kids don’t experience difficulties or worries. Feeling worried, sad or fearful is normal. However, kids who are mentally healthy are equipped to hand many of life’s curve balls that come their way. They also don’t let their emotions overwhelm them. As a result they learn better and have more friends. As a parent, it’s helpful to reflect on the mental health habits that you promote in your children. Tip No. 3: Encourage your kids to exercise
Do you recall your mum or dad telling you to turn the television off and get outside and play? Little did they know they
were promoting good mental health. Our parents probably just knew that physical acitivity was a good thing for an
active growing body. Kids tioday get less exercise than those of past generations, which has negative effects for men-
tal health. Exercise stimulates the chemicals that improve mood and release stress that builds up over a day. An
hour’s movement per day seems the minimum for kids. How much exercise does your child receive?
