September 7- Week 7 Term 3 Newsletter 2018
What's been happening in 2s?!
In 2S, we have been “travelling” around the world in a hot air
balloon, discovering amazing places on each of the seven
continents. First stop was our own capital city, Canberra, and
then on to the beautiful Torres Strait Islands.
We then got our passports ready and went to the Philippines,
India, Greece, England and Nigeria. This week we are exploring
North and Central America where our friend Taco the Chihuahua
is from.
Taco has been spending time with us and teaching us a little bit
of Espanol! He’s even going to be sharing his special taco recipe
with us.
Delicioso!

Diary Dates-
The land had been in drought for seven years.
Not a single raindrop had fallen.
Elijah went down on his knees and prayed for rain. When he lifted his head, he told his servant to look out
to the sea for signs of rain.
Nothing.
Again Elijah prayed.
Again, he asked his servant to look out to the sea for rain. And again, nothing. The response was the
same. It appeared nothing was changing.
Until the seventh time.
On the seventh time, the servant came back.
“There is a small cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.”
Many of us have prayers that we haven’t seen the answer to. Loved ones who have walked away,
sicknesses that continue to grow worse, heavy situations that weigh on our hearts. It can appear that
nothing is happening. And yet, I take hope in the words of Jesus.
“My Father is always at work, and I also am working.” - John 5:17
God never stops working, never stops loving, never stops caring. Regardless of what I see in front of me,
I know that my faith is based completely in the God whose love is immeasurable, whose faithfulness is
never-ending.
Whatever is on your heart today, whatever has been your prayer over these days, weeks, months or even
years, continue to come before our faithful God knowing that He hears, He cares and He loves us more
than we can imagine. And one day, I pray that we will have eyes to see that small cloud, even if it’s just the
size of a man’s hand, rising above the sea.
