Coming soon: Sixth Form and Sports Academy Taster Day
On Thursday 17th December, Year 11 will have the opportunity to live life as a Sixth Former for the day. We
cannot wait to give our students a taste of Sixth Form life, and to help them to work out which of our many
interesting courses will be suitable for them. During the day, they will try out different lessons, wear Sixth Form
business dress and have access to everything CGS sixth form has to offer. This will include an exciting enrichment
session, in house advice on their future pathways and guidance and support from the sixth form mentor. Sports
Academy is an integral part of the CGS Sixth Form, and the Taster Day will reflect this as anyone interested in the
opportunities offered through Sports Academy will be able to try out both the theory and the practical side of the
Sports Academy experience.
We also recognise that our students may be considering other options outside of Cox Green Sixth Form, therefore
we have arranged for sessions led by local colleges and apprenticeship providers to be a key part of the day for
those interested. These will be options the students can choose as part of the day.
During tutor times in the upcoming weeks, Year 11 will be given additional information on each of the subjects we
offer and have a chance to make their selections for Taster Day. Please look out for a letter coming home
immediately after the mocks that will detail all of this and discuss the best Taster Day options with your child. If
you have any questions, please contact [email protected] .
