Blue or White? By Flavie Bastien
Do you know about the debate of the color of ''The Dress'' ?
The Dress
''The dress’’ is known because a lot of people were disagreeing
on the color: blue and black or white and gold. Even if it went
viral, the dress from the picture is originally from Colonsay,
Scotland.
How did the debate started?
Cecilia Bleasdale and Paul Jinks,
Cecilia’s partner, took a photo of the
wedding dress that their daughter
was going to wear the next week.
When they looked at the picture, no
one agreed about the color : Blue
and Black or White and Gold? So
the bride posted the picture and her
friends did not agree either, his
friend, Ceitlin McNeill, reposted it
public and then the debate started.
That’s how this dress became so pop-
ular and enigmatic.
Price: around 100$.
Explanations
A lot of hypothesis were said for the
explanation of the dress's color. You
have to choose witch one you believe.
Arthur Shapiro, illusionist, says:
''In reality, it's light coming off of the
computer screen, and then our brain
interprets it and those interpretations can be different.''
Dr. Stork says:
''Every image we see we Photoshop or auto correct, but less
than 0.1 percent of the time will what you see actually differ
from my perception. This happens to be one of those times.''
Other people says:
'' That allows people to see both different colours, at different
times, depending on the brightness of the room and the back-
ground of the page that the dress is presented on. Those things
can encourage the brain either to see the ambient light as
daylight-coloured or night-coloured.''
There is still a debate about the
why and the how but it is just
about picking a side.
And YOU, What color do you see?
Coco Rocha was born as Mikhaila Rocha on
September 10, 1988 in Toronto, Canada. She
and her to siblings grew up in Richmond,
British Columbia, where she developed a pas-
sion for Irish dancing. She has Irish and Ukrainian descen-
dants.
How it all started
Coco, then 15, was at
an Irish dance compe-
tition when her agent,
Charles Stuart, asked
her if she wanted to
model. Coco had never
thought about mode-
ling before and new
very little about fas-

hion and the industry, but she learned fast and by 2006 she
was already on the cover of Vogue Italia.
Full time mom
Coco is married to James Coran. They have a daughter Ioni
James Coran, born on March 28, 2015. She is
only a year old and she has already traveled
the world to shoot with her mother.
Changing the face of the industry
Being a model wasn’t always easy for Coco.
Numerous were the times when she was told
she had to lose weight even if she was alrea-
dy very skinny. She was even told that she
had to look anorexic. But that didn’t keep
her from modeling. She strives to improve the way we talk
about bodies, from fat
-shaming to thin-
shaming .
Now Coco is an inspa-
ration to women all
around the globe.
LookingGood: What kind of hair cut do you like the most ?
Pascale (the hair dresser): When I was younger I liked it very
short because I loved to use the clipper for the feeling. But now
I discovred the interest to do hair cut with long hair and try to
do different lenght and layered hair but it is more difficult.
LookingGood: What kind of shampoo do you use and why ?
Pascale: Now I use ’’Fructis for curly hair’’ because I tried a lot
of shmpoo before and this one is the best for my kind of hair be-
cause each person needs different thing for their hair.
LookingGood: Naturally, what kind of hair do you like the most ?
Pascale: The most beautiful, natural hair I saw was a little girl
that had a black father (brown and CURLY hair) and a white mo-
ther (blond straight hair). Her hair was blond and really curly and
wonderful!
LookingGood: Do you like dyed hair and why?
Pascale: I think it is very original but I would not like my hair
dyed because it is white and goes with my age and it is ok too but
on other people I like the different ways to express yourself.
There is some people with different colors at different lenght
and it is beautiful because it is their style.
Intervew With an
Hair Dresser
By Flavie Bastien
LookingGood: If I want to make my hair longer, do you have an advice
for me to keep its health?
Pascale: I think it is very important to not use hot temprature , like
the hair dryer and the flat iron, because it can break the hair. It is
also important to be careful when you brush your hair to not break it,
and some good oil to put on your hair to nourish it.
.LookingGood: We know that it is important to cut the tip of the hair
usually but when do you know it is time ?
Pascale: I think yourself is the best person to know it, like when you
brush your hair it is more difficult for the tip, so it is the sign that it
the probably the time to cut it.
LookingGood: What changes when you have thin or thick hair ?
Pascale: When I cut the hair it
is very different and you have
to use a better clipper or bet-
ter cisors because it is more
difficult to cut thick hair. You
can not do the same hair cut or
the same style when it is curly
or straight so it is the same
thing with thick or thin hair, we
can only do something that look
alike.
We interviewed Maya Lamothe-Katrapani, she did a fashion-photagraphy magazine as a
defi RDE.
Looking Good: How did you get the idea to
make a fashion-photagraphy magazine?
Maya: At my sixteenth birthday, I got a book
on how to make your own photoshoot. How to find
the right models, locations and cameras, how to
get the right lighting, etc. so I got really inspired
by that and I all ready wanted to do this project
since I also love photography so this book made
me want to do it eaven more and RDE gave me
that oppurtunatie.
L.G.: What was the main theme of the maga-
zine?
M: I wanted the models to expres themselfs threw the clothes so their expressions were as
important as the clothes so it wasn,t really a theme where they wear a surten thing, I
wanted the clothes to look good on the person and expres them but in a more excentric
way. They were still little themes, for example some pictures where taking in a music studio
so the models were more musical, leather jackets, guitars, ect while others were taken inthe
school so the the team was like fashion at school but with clothes that you wouldn’t neces-
saraly wear at schoool.
L.G.: What was the coolest part of making a magazine/shoot?
M: The coolest part was finding the clothes and dressing upb the
models and putting theire makeup on before the shoot.
L.G.: How did you find the clohes for the shoot?
M: A lot of the clothes were mine or my parent’s and some of the clothes I found in thrif
shops , also my mom’s friend has a huge wardroop with a lot of really awesome clothes so I
picked a few items from her and the models brought some of their clothes as well so I
mixed all those up and made outfits.
Maya Lamothe-Katrapani By Inès Lamothe-Katrapani
L.G.: What did you tell the models before they posed?
M: I didn’t tell them much. They were asking me¸ « What do I do?
», « Where do I look? » but I just tould them to move around and
when it was the perfect time I tould them to stop moving and I took
the picure or I just tould them to do what they wanted and toke the
shot at the right moment.
L.G.: What is your go to hairstyle?
M: I like to sleep with braids so the next morning my hair is wavy. I just take them out
put a bit of anti friz product so my hair doesn’t poofen up and I’m good to go. I can’t really
have a bad hair day when I do that and it doesn’t show if my hair is messy or durty.
L.G.: Who is your fashion insparation?
M: I have a lot and depends of the moment but for sure always my mom and my grandma
since they have a great style but right now I’m really inspired by how Zela Day dresses. She
has that bohemian look, floral bant suits, flared pants, rings, bracelets, fringes, seued and
wooden platform shoes.
L.G.: What do you like the most about fashion?
M: I like how you can express yourself, also i love being
around people that look nice, dress nicely and also just for
myself, I like being in clothes i find pretty.
L.G.: Since you have a uniform at school, how do you find
a way to express yourself threw the clothes?
M: It’s easier at our school since we don’t have to by the clothes at school, we cand find
them elsewhere so u can still find for exemple a really nice cardigan as long as it is the
school colours, also we can have whatever shoes we want so I use that to express myself,
also you can wear accessories, for exampple, I love to where rings, bracelets, earings and fi-
nally you can have whatever hair style you want,. So yeah, i find ways but I still very
anxtious to cegep so I can complete;y decide.

Dear Leonardo,
Tomorrow night, i’m going on a first date (I think he is going to bring me at a McDo) and
I don’t know What to wear.
Can you give me suggestions?
-LOVing_girl
Hi LOVing_girl,
I suggest you wear a cute skinny crop top with a skirt because boys love it and I also sug-
gest you don’t go with him because I am better and I will bring you to a better place then
“McDo” so contact me if you want ( ***-***-*****).
Hi Mr J!
So here is my problem: I want to get the attention of a particular boy. He sits behind me
in class but he never talks to me.
How can I get his eyes to stop on me?
-InHisSight
Hey !
So, I think that the best way to get his attention is to dress cute, with a short and col-
ourful dress. When the class will start, you can flip your hair in his face and then your turn
and say a little sorry with a smile. If you do not have long hair, I suggest you use *******’s
product and it will grow faster (By the way, you can flip your hair in my face any-
time ;) ).

DEAR EXPERT
Leo J. Answers your questions!!
Hey L.J. !
I will go on my first job interview today but I don’t know what to wear or how to put my
hair : I do not want to look like an high school girl.
So what should I do to look mature and confident??
-GROWNgirl
Hey,
I think you should dress as usual to show that your sure of yourself and you should put
your heir in a pony tail to also look ready to get your hands dirty. Take it easy.
Dear Mr. J,
I just moved in town from Texas. My first day at my new high school is tomorrow and I
don’t know what to wear. What do teenagers here wear? I wouldn’t want to be put in the
looser zone on my first day.
-TexasGirl101
Hey,
You should wear a crop top (the shorter, the better ;) ), skinny jeans (the skinnier, the
better ;) ) and a flannel shirt. Have a great first day !

The bikini was named after the island
Bikini Atoll, where the US military
was testing its bombs in World War 2.
It was also named because its creator,
Louis Réard, he belived the suit would
create a shock like that atomic bomb.
The average woman, al-

Today it is common to see women and
girls in short hair. But decades ago,
if a woman spotted with short hair,
she was considered to be an unfaith-
ful wife.
