Heather Buring, hairdesigner and owner of thenewAspireBeautySaloninSisters,hasalwaysbeencom-mittedtobringingtop-qualityservicestoherclients.
Beforesettling inSistersalmostfiveyearsago,BuringlivedinRedmond.Shegradu-atedfromPhagansSchoolofHairDesigninBendin2005,and for 10 years she hasbeenspecializingincreatingtrendyhairstylesthatleteachclientlookandfeeltheirbest.
“Eversincemiddleschool,mydreamwas tobecomeahairstylist,”Buringsaid.“Iwouldstyleallofmyfriend’shair. Then in high school,when it came time for theprom, I was busy creatingnewhairstylesforfriends.”
Before opening Aspirelast summer, Buring man-agedAmonte’Salon&SpainSistersforsixyearsbeforetheyclosed.
“Being the managerhelpedmelearnhowtorunabusiness. Itwasanamaz-ing opportunity forme andledme to openingmy ownsalon,”saidBuring.
“I’ve had a lot of helpfrommyfriendsintheSisterscommunitybeforeIopened,”Buring said. “Mydad is anelectrician and did all theelectricalworkforthesalon.”
Buringenjoystakingtimewith her clients to build arapport.
“MyfocusishairandI’mallaboutquality.WhenIgetanewreferralIaskthemtobring in three or four pic-tures so that I know whattheyarelookingfor,”Buringexplained. “I spendawhilewith eachclientgoingoverwhatwouldbethemostprac-ticalfortheirhairtype.”
Many elements in hairdressing follow the sameelementsofart.Line,shape/form, color, value, texture,
and shape perspective areall taken into considerationwhenstylinghair.
“There’s so much morebehindstylinghairthanjusthowtostyleit.Itakeanartis-tic approach tohairdesign;itreallyisanartform,andIeducatemyclientsonhowtotakecareoftheirhair,”saidBuring.

“InameditAspirebecauseIwanteverybodytoachievethathopetheyhavefortheirhair, because having greathair makes my clients whotheyare,anditmakesthemfeelgood,”Buringsaid.“Ifthey can’t do their hair theway theywant it, then theyare not feeling good aboutthemselves.”
BuringalsovolunteersintheLookGood,FeelBetterprogram, trying to spreadalittle happiness styling hairandgivingoutbeautytipsforcancerpatients.
The Look Good, FeelBetterprogramisanon-med-ical, brand-neutral public-serviceprogramthatteachesbeauty techniques tocancerpatients to help themselves

“I heard about it from aclientwhohadcancerwhenIwas a stylist inRedmondeightyearsago,”Buringsaid.“I’msoproud tobepartoftheprogram!
