Network Load Balancing (NLB) is a Clustering Technology.
Windows Based. (Windows Server 2003).To scale performance, Network Load Balancing distributes IP
traffic across multiple cluster hosts. It also ensures high availability by detecting host failures and automatically redistributing traffic to the surviving hosts.
NLB provides remote controllability.
INTRODUCTION
Setting up NLB on the machines and testing that it is working.
OBJECTIVE
When a client requests a service from the main server, the server consults the cluster and check which host is open for traffic without pressuring any specific host.
When it finds an open server, it will redirect the request to that host to be completed.
If the main host was busy, the second prioritized host will complete the job.
In case of heavy traffic on all hosts, the load will be distributed equally to all hosts.
