  • Exporting the 3D view

Select the Export NWC under the Revit main menu

    Importing into Navisworks

Open the Navisworks Simulate that matches the Revit Year of the exported NWC file

    Append any additional NWC Files

{Saveas} the combined file as [project - Navisworks – Review]

    Generating Saved Views

After importing all the appropriate files into your Navisworks – Review File, it is important to generate a

set of initial views which will allow quick navigation of the model.

TIP: If the planes do not show or your model vanishes, deselect and reselect the move action and the

    plane should show up

Set the file name to Export - Project name - Discipline - R(Revit Year)

    Navigate to [Project/Engineering/Working Drawings/Revit] and

    {Save}

TIP: If the Project is very large you may need to Export the

Architectural and electrical information separately. You can export

any discipline you have attached to the electrical Revit file and even

use the same 3D model just by adjusting which Links and which

model categories are on or off in the graphics override of the 3D

    view.

Select Append under the Home Tab and navigate to

the Folder containing the Exported NWC File

Appending is like attaching an X-ref in CAD. By

appending we can keep a single Navis file up to date

when we export new NWC files and overwrite the old

TIP: Ensure File type selection is set to see all

    Navisworks file types

Under the viewpoint tab select Enable Sectioning

Select planes then turn on the planes you wish to use

Select the orientation of each plan (top, bottom, etc.)

  • All Floor plans must be generated this way in the Navis file. We also recommend creating At least one

cut section of the entire building and cut sections of areas that have multiple varying ceiling heights.
