Civil GPS Service Interface Committee
• NAVCEN coordinates and manages the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee (CGSIC) as part of the Department of Transportation’s program to respond to the needs of civil GPS users, and to integrate GPS use into the civil sector applications.
Differential GPS
• USCG developed an augmentation to GPS
• Maritime Differential GPS (DGPS)
• NDGPS expanded DGPS to cover surface areas
• NAVCEN Operates 85 NDGPS sites from 2 Control Centers, East and West Coast.
NAVIGATION INFORMATION SERVICE
• Disseminate Information on GPS, DGPS, Loran-C, Maritime Safety, Maritime Communications, & Local Notice to Mariners
• Operational Advisory Broadcast Service
• Operates 24 Hours, 7 days a week
• Maintains Library of Radionavigation Publications, Handbooks & Materials
• 150,000 Inquiries Per Month Via Internet, E-Mail/List Server, Phone, and Mail
