Natura 2000 Biogeographical Process
Protect species and habitats - Target 1 By 2020, the assessments of species and habitats protected by EU nature law show better conservation or a secure status for 100 % more habitats and 50 % more species.
Natura 2000 Biogeographical Process
Midterm Review & the Process Strengthen focus through the Process to contribute to meeting the EU 2020 Biodiversity objectives, mainly the improvement of conservation status. Discuss & develop work on, for example, biogeographical level favourable reference values (FRVs) Strengthen the marine aspect of the Process Continue to facilitate and further develop concrete cooperation actions between all actors involved with the management of Natura 2000 as a coherent ecological network.
Natura 2000 Biogeographical Process
Preparing for the next Natura 2000 Seminars
Important strategic questions – for example: What lessons can be learnt from the results of the Article 17 (Habitats
Directive) assessments of the conservation status of habitat types and species of Community interest?
Can we define biogeographical level targets for conservation and restoration?
Can favourable reference values be usefully defined at the biogeographical, national, regional or site levels?
How can the effectiveness of conservation measures for achieving favourable conservation status be evaluated?
>>> IDENTIFYING WHAT CONCRETE COOPERATION ACTIONS WILL IMPROVE FAVOURABLE CONSERVATION STATUS.
