NATCO TRUST: THE CSR ARM OF NATCO PHARMA LIMITED – Annual
Report 2017-18
About Natco Trust
Shri Venkaiah Choudhry Nannapaneni, the visionary Founder and Chairman of Natco
Pharma Limited, is widely credited as the architect of innovating and providing
oncology drugs at an affordable price to cancer patients, thus saving precious lives.
He is known for his philanthropic services in the form of providing basic amenities like
water, sanitation, electricity etc. to tribal villages. This desire to help the community
has been embedded in the Natco family’s philosophy for decades.
Shri Nannapaneni realises that there remains a yawning chasm between different
strata of society, with vast divides in the areas of affordable education, health,
hygiene, sanitation, water, livelihoods, farming, social and economic well-being of the
community at large. In order to bridge this gap, Natco Pharma Limited established
the Natco Trust in 1995.
Concept of Natco Trust
It is with the aim of covering this deficit that Shri Nannapaneni established Natco
Trust as the corporate social responsibility arm of Natco Pharma Ltd. It is based
in Hyderabad and the core areas of interventions are Education, Health, Hygiene,
Sanitation, Water, Livelihoods, Farming, institutional support and need based
community infrastructure. It operates in the vicinity of wherever it has a business
presence and the mentor’s home district.
Corporate Approach
Natco Trust witnessed a transition in the year 2008, when it changed hands and
was spearheaded by Ms. Swathi, a family member. Emphasis was laid on the
holistic development of an individual, starting from the birth, through their journey
into childhood, adolescence, adulthood and in the later years of their life inclusive
of socio-economic, physical, mental, ecological and spiritual well-being. More
importantly, it transcended the barriers and catered to the holistic requirements
and aspirations of the community through their journey of life for health and
happiness.
We at Natco endeavour to make a positive contribution to the underprivileged by
supporting a wide range of socio-economic demand driven programmes including
education, health, nutrition, sanitation, hygiene, livelihood, farming and other
community based initiatives to promote a healthy and happy living.
