The Assignment
The Assignment was that we had to make a design spec for our own custom video game console, here is a design sheet I used to help plan making my console.
Console Reviews
To start I looked online at reviews of the major Next-Gen consoles to see where the strong points and weak points of the consoles with the public and I would keep these reviews in mind when it come to what to use for my console.

Xbox One Review
If PS4 is the thoroughbred games machine, then this is the great, visionary all-rounder. Sony’s console has it outmatched when it comes to raw graphics grunt, and that’s reflected in lower resolutions right now and potentially weaker visuals in the future.
Yet Xbox One brings so much more to the part, whether the enhanced Kinect voice and motion controls, the superb integration of entertainment services, or the potential for cloud-based processing in years to come. Buying Xbox One is a gamble – and an expensive one at that – but it feels like the console of the future, and if Microsoft can deliver on its promises that gamble will pay off.

PS4 Review
The PS4 is a powerful, great looking console that is need of some killer PS4 exclusives. These are bound to come in time, but there's no doubt that it's the more powerful of the two consoles and that Sony has produced a leaner, more gamer orientated console compared to the Xbox One.

Wii U Review
Even by Nintendo’s standards, this is no ordinary run-of-the-mill console. The Wii U GamePad is a strange, brilliant and versatile controller, and employed properly might just power a new wave of fantastic, innovative games. As a vehicle for family fun, the Wii U is a formidable system, despite a slow UI and the odd niggle here and there. The struggle will be working out how it fits in between the current console generation and the next, and maintaining third-party support, but the potential is there for some great games, and some really unique experiences.

The Console Design
When it came to making the console the main vision I had in mind was that I wanted something unique and noticeable, and I went for a red, black and grey colour scheme because them colours had not been used together with any major console and I thought they meshed well together.
The Controller
When making the controller I based it off the design off the Xbox 360 controller with the PS4 touch pad, but added my own unique design with and leather pads for the hand, also I kept a similar colour scheme to my console
The Console Logo
When I was thinking to make the idea for the Console Logo I looked at what other companies had used for their logos, I decided on using basic text for my logo because it is basic yet marketable, and I used the Trademark to make it look more professional.
The Main Menu Interface
When designing the menu interface I based my design off of the Xbox One interface as I thought it is easy and understandable. I made silhouettes of pictures I found and made sure to choose ones so that people would understand what they mean.
