What? A blanket drive My goal was to collect as many blankets
as possible for the homeless people who were going to have to keep warm during the winter months

Where? My church and parents workplaces I had a note in my church’s bulletin that
there was a blanket drive and I had my parents tell their friends at work about the blanket drive also.

Why? One day I was watching TV and saw that
a little girl started a foundation where they took $1 donations and eventually they donated almost half a million dollars to be able to provide kids in Africa with clean water.
This inspired me to go out and do something for my community.

When? The blanket drive went on from
September of 2011 until the end of November that same year which is when they stopped taking blanket donations for most of the winter.

Results In the 3 month period, I collected almost
200 blankets for Operation Safety Net to distribute to homeless people in the city of Pittsburgh.
After this was all over, my reward was knowing that I went out and helped people in need.
