Objectives of the Workshop
Workshop Objectives
• To provide the technical information and necessary basic skills to UNICEF officers, government counterparts and survey coordinators – For the planning, organization, and
management of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 3), or
– For the integration of MICS3 indicators to ongoing household surveys
Workshop Objectives
• To reach a common understanding in the methodological and organizational aspects of MICS3
• To share past experiences and current plans for data collection in the context of MICS3
Workshop Objectives
• To assist countries to fine-tune details regarding the implementation of MICS3– Production of a penultimate/final survey
plan at the end of the workshop

• To strengthen country-level capacity in the collection and use of reliable, up-to-date data on MICS3 indicators – To meet data needs of countries– To meet reporting requirements on MDGs,
WFfC and other commitments
Workshop Objectives
To establish necessary links between countries, UNICEF country offices, the UNICEF Regional Office, and UNICEF NYHQ to develop a network for future monitoring and evaluation activities in the region.
