Loan Type

Conventional — Student debt must be

accounted for in debt to income…deferred or not.

FHA — Student loans must be accounted in debt

to income – unless they are deferred for over 12

months.

VA — same as FHA

FHA and VA can allow the borrowers with student debt to

purchase more in many cases.
