We have explored the theme of “Appearances vs Reality” in depth during our reading of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Over and over again we have asked ourselves, “Is Hamlet really crazy or is he pretending?”

Task: In 4-5 paragraphs, argue whether Hamlet was crazy as he appeared or merely pretending to be crazy. Support your claim with evidence from the text.
