Answer: Students may answer any of the suffixes that have been used in the first two chapters. If a suffix begins with a vowel, drop the combining vowel; if the suffix begins with a consonant, keep the combining vowel.

Answer: Suffixes such as -al, -ose, -eal, -ior, and -iac all mean pertaining to. Terms ending with these suffixes are adjectives.
