6 VILLAGE RESORTS › 1 REGIONChampéry Champéry’s first tourists arrived in the 1850’s, making this one of the oldest tourist destinations in Switzerland. Quaint, yet resolutely modern, the picturesque main street still has all the authen-tic charm of yesteryear while the village’s iconic red-and-white cable car is a model of Swiss ef-ficiency, whisking you up to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area in under 5 minutes.
ChampoussinChampoussin is a peaceful, down-to-earth village, where visitors can stop and smell the flowers and get to know the marmots, goats and other friendly, locals. The south-facing hillsides trap the sunshine and the gently rolling slopes are perfect for beginner skiers and families.
Les CrosetsLes Crosets is a bustling hotspot on the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil ski area and a hub for direct connections to the other Swiss and French resorts. Home to the legendary Superpark and the perfect jumping-off point for ski-in ski-out holidays, Les Crosets loves sports lovers!
MorginsThe last Swiss stop on the road to France and the gateway to the Val d’Abondance, Morgins is a vital link between the Swiss and French territories of the Portes du Soleil. In winter, Morgins of-fers long, scenic ski runs and the Rando Park, the region’s only official ski touring training ground. In summer, hikers love the vast network of trails and theme walks.
TroistorrentsThe first village in the Val d’Illiez, Troistorrents covers a territory of more than 37 km2 and inclu-ding several small hamlets. At the centre of all this, the magnificent Church of St. Mary Magdale-ne sits imposingly on a rocky promontory; a testimony to the rich architectural heritage found here in the largest of the valley’s villages.
Val-d’IlliezLocated in the heart of the valley that bears its name, the village of Val d’Illiez nestles at the very foot of the spectacular Dents du Midi mountains and is home to the famous Thermes Parc hot baths. While the mineral rich waters may not be certifiably miraculous, they are certainly well-re-puted for their healing and soothing properties!
1 INTERNATIONAL SKI AREA Sprawling across the French-Swiss border and including 12 unique resort villages, the Portes du Soleil is the largest international ski area in the world. Designed for winter sports, the Portes du Soleil is just as much fun in summer, with an endless network of hiking, biking and running trails.

RÉGION DENTS DU MIDIThe Région Dents du Midi encompasses 6 charming villages perched high in the Swiss Alps near the southeastern end of Lake Geneva. Nestled in the spectacular Val d’Illiez, these villages are part of Les Portes du Soleil, the world’s largest international ski area, offering over 1’000 kilometers of natural beauty year round.
No matter the season, this is a place of exhilarating peaks and inspiring views, where the border between France and Switzerland has all but disappeared and your backyard stretches as far as the eye can see. In a land with no boundaries the possibilities are infinite; activities, events, sports, restaurants, thermal baths and spas, a national ice sports centre… At the risk of sounding cliché, there really IS something for everyone in the Région Dents du Midi!

I came, I saw, I fell in love… If this were a name-dropper kind of place, we’d have no shortage of names to drop. Victor Hugo, Théophile Gautier, Lord Byron, Trotsky, Mont-gomery, Ferdinand Hodler, aristocrats, politicians, scientists, journalists, financiers, jet-setters and film stars; we’ve seen our share of People.
Some just come for a quiet get-away. More often than not, they come back, seeking refuge and anonymity from an otherwise hectic lifestyle. Because here, People are just people and nobody worries about seeing or being seen. Discretion is de rigueur.

INSTRUC-TORS
INTO THE GREAT WHITE OPEN…From the moment the first frosting of snow dusts the peaks of the Dents du Midi, a thrill of excitement shivers through the Val d’Illiez in anticipation of the coming winter sea-son. It’s not hard to understand our collective obsession with winter sports; with more than 286 ski slopes covering 600 km of terrain, the Portes du Soleil is a very big deal around here. Skiers and snowboarders can choose from long, winding ski slopes, like the bucolic Ripaille – Grand Paradis run or the Didier Defago run, named for our local Olym-pic champion, or test their mettle on perilous black pistes like the infamous, vertiginous mogul field at the top of Chavanette, better known as the Swiss Wall.
But in the Val d’Illiez, the joys of winter come in a multitude of experiences and the ski slopes are just the beginning. 150 km of snowshoe trails explore silent winter lands-capes far from the madding crowds, and then there is always cross-country skiing, ski touring, invigorating winter hikes, ice-climbing, curling and oh so much more!

HIKING
Before the last winter snows have melted, hikers and bikers take over the mountainsides. In summer, some 800 km of hiking trails and 1,000 km of mountain bike trails await outside your front door, with quaint alpine restaurants and sunny terraces at strategic intervals along the way. There are almost limitless excursions to choose from, whether you stay closer to home or venture higher up into the sur-rounding mountains. Go at your own pace on foot or bike, saddle up your trusty steed or head for the horizon on your electric bicycle; you can even hitch a ride on one of the ski lifts open for summer!
This is a place of exhilarating peaks and inspiring views, where the border between France and Switzer-land has all but disappeared and your backyard stretches as far as the eye can see.

TRAIL RUNNING
Conquer the Alps on foot! With 48 itineraries, 23 chairlifts and 400km of trails criss-crossing the
Portes du Soleil at your disposal, even beginner trail-runners can eat up the miles. And with the Multi

alpine huts at strategic intervals along the trail, you’ll finish each day in rustic comfort, with a hearty meal
shared with your fellow travellers and a restorative night’s sleep.
TROPHÉE DES ALPAGES

purchase necessary! Just pick up a stamp card and set off to visit as many alpine huts and restaurants
as you can between Champéry, Val d’Illiez, Les Cro-sets, Champoussin and Morgins. Stamp your card at
