Measurement of Ionizing Radiation in the site region
Edgar Casimiro Linares (DCI-UG)Arnulfo Zepeda (CINVESTAV-IPN)
Humberto Martinez (BUAP)
• On last group trip to the site (Aug 27 2009) we (A. Zepeda, H. Martinez and E. Casimiro) took a Geiger Counter with us.
• We (rather quickly) measured the Ionizing Radiation levels at four different points along the way up the site.

Counting Rates
• We have considered intervals of 300 sec.• At the four measuring points e have put the
Geiger with the sensitive window looking up.• At point One and Four we have additionally
taken measurements with the Geiger sensitive window looking down.

Conclusions and Comments
• We clearly see an increase on the Counting Rate as we go up.
• The rates are consistent whether the sensitive window looks up or down.
• Accumulate more statistics next time.• Find out height asl at the different points.
