Canadian Association of Staff Physician Recruiters
The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) was founded by the Canada Medical Act of 1912 which created a uniform system and high standards for physician assessment and practice for all of Canada.
With its key stakeholders, the MCC
• develops, validates and implements tools and strategies to evaluate physicians’ competence; and
• maintains a national registry of physicians and their qualifications throughout their professional careers.

• Evaluating Examination assessment of basic medical knowledge since 2008, computer-based and offered in over 80
countries
• NAC OSCE- assesses the readiness of an International Medical
Graduate (IMG) for entrance into a Canadian residency program
- a national, standardized examination that tests the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential for entrance into postgraduate training in Canada

• Qualifying Examination Part I
- assesses the medical knowledge and clinical decision making
- computer-based, multiple choice questions (MCQs) with short-menu and short-answer write-in questions
• Qualifying Examination Part II
- objective structured clinical exam (OSCE) assessing the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential for entry into independent clinical practice

• Qualifying Examination Parts I and II
- Canadian graduates and IMGs must successfully complete both parts to be awarded the Licentiate of the MCC (LMCC).

Self Administered Examinations
• A series of multiple-choice practice examinations intended for medical graduates wishing to test their level of preparedness for the:
◦ MCCEE – Self Administered Evaluating Examination (SAE - EE)
◦ MCCQE Part I – Self Administered QE Part I (SAE - QEI)
• Several forms (or versions) available
• Offered online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Provided as a sample of the type and style of MCQs and as a study aid

• Sharing verified medical credentials stored in the repository with MRAs and other organizations currently registered
• In addition to this functionality, physiciansapply.ca will allow qualified physicians to use an entirely electronic system to complete and submit an application for medical registration.
