Pentecost is a joyful time of celebration in the coming of the Holy Spirit and thbirth of the church. As we come together on Pentecost Sunday you are asked to w
your bright colors of red or yellow or orange or all three to show the vibrancy we
as we honor the coming of the holy spirit.
This will be a birthday celebration of the church and we ask that each of you
consider giving a gift from the wish list on page 3 and wrapping it in vivid colors a
birthday gift to EPC. The children of EPC with much enthusiasm will open the g
as we reflect on how much our church means to us.
A brunch will follow worship and a signup sheet will be posted in the narthex
Please plan to stay and join in the excitement.

ADULT SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL Would you like to dig
deeper into the Psalms? Join us on Sunday mornings staring June
5th at 9:15 for informal study and discussion of the Psalms of the
week. We’ll meet in the Adult Sunday School room at the back
of the worship space. No special preparation is necessary, but it
would be helpful if you’ve read the Psalms suggested for the
week. All are welcome.
NO SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH Therewill be no children's or Youth Sunday School on May15th. The Youth will be leading the service that day and thechildren will be participating. The last day for Children's SundaySchool will be May 22nd. Look for Crayon Corner and SundaySacks this summer. See you back for Sunday School inSeptember!

NURSERY ATTENDANT NEEDED Eastminster is searching for a NurseryAttendant who loves children and iscapable of planning activities for them.This is a part-time position. Additionalskills necessary are good
communication, organization, and administration skills. Ifinterested, or know someone who may be, the job description isavailable in the church office. Resumes may be turned in to thechurch office or emailed to [email protected].
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING There will be a
brief congregational meeting after worship May 15th to elect
Jerry Calloway to fill the vacant elder position for the Class of
2018. If elected, we will install Jerry as an active elder on
Sunday, May 22.
YOUNG ADULT BRUNCH The young adults of EPC areinvited for brunch and fellowship at Bonnie McCourtie’s house
after worship on Sunday, May 22. Get acquainted orreacquainted with others, reflect together on “life after youth
group,” and explore options for future gatherings. College age,graduating high school seniors, and recent college grads are all

Children’s Ministries Fund supports Children’s ministries beyond the annual budget, such as Vacation Bible School.Dan Hughs Fund for Adult Education Ministries and Congregational Care. This Dan Hughs fund is instrumental inproviding quality Adult Education at Eastminster. Curriculum is $65 per quarter.Liturgical Art Funds- supports worship needs such as candles, paraments, banners, flowers, and more.Music Ministries supports the music ministry beyond the annual budget. A Sunday anthem can cost around $50 for sheetmusic and the rights to use the song. Youth Ministries supports Youth ministries beyond the annual budget, such as Montreat and mission

local food bank with tomato products. So the nexttime you are at the store, pick up an extra can of pasta sauce,
bottle of ketchup, (plastic or cans - no glass please!), diced tomatoes,tomato puree, tomato soup, etc. to help fill our bin in the commons area!

The Outreach Committee wishes to thankall EPC members who volunteered to serveduring our recently concluded GAIHN HostWeek May 1-8. Your dedication to thisministry is vital to its success and it showedin the comments received from the guests.This rotation completes two full years forEastminster as a host congregation and inthat time we have provided a safe, cleanand healthy environment to 23 familiescomprised of 71 people. Our next host weekis August 7-14 and with a new coordinator
taking over, the Outreach Committee hopesyou'll continue to support GAIHN.

On Saturday, April 30, 25 members of Eastminstercame together in a joint effort by the Faith Formationand Outreach Committees to serve in United Way'sHands On Greenville Day of Service.
We met at the Center for Community Service inFountain Inn and spent three hours raking leaves,clearing limbs and shrubs and spreading mulch.CCS is an organization this congregation hassupported for many years which provides localfamilies in need with case management, orientationand referrals and family programming for parentsand children at risk.
Summer WorshipBeginning Sunday, June 5, we will
journey through the Psalms during worship. Each week, you are
encouraged to follow the reading plan which will be in the June, July
and August newsletters.The sermon each week will focus
on one of the Psalms from theprevious weeks reading.
